Re: PFF Hall of Fame

I think we should start one and honor first those that have left us. After we do those people, we should do the current members. Here's what I was thinking:

 

1. In order to be inducted one must: Be nominated. (duh) That's the easiest step.

2. Then we need to come up with a list of achievements that the person accomplished while at the forums.

3. Then a group of people(either us in the Maw or the entire forums)will vote on if they have done enough to deserve being enshrined into the Hall of Fame.

4. If the person is not at the forums anymore, we should try to e-mail or make contact with them to see if they would come back for one post, like an acceptance speech. Or they could e-mail one of the members their "speech" and they could post it. Either way would be fine.

 

My nominations are: Swiftdraw, Darkmark, and Stellar Magic.

Yeah...I was gonna nominate them, but I know that they still hang around. But there is one person that I forgot to mention earlier that deserves it: Zerogravity.

Zerogravity, ah yes him he was one of the few regs who helped build PFF. Me, Fosh, Cain, ZG, and a random others I can't remember at the moment.

All joking aside, I do think that Vader89 did a bit for the forums. I would agree with the nomination. So now the list of members who have left is:

what about me? i've been here longer than dork and i was amoung those of the second generation to join. i've been here over 2 years and have never abandoned the site.

I was thinking that we should nominate the active members in a "second batch" after those that have left are inducted. A few questions before we get to that point:

 

1.Should we have the Hall be based off of votes from all the forumgoers(I.E. in the Bar) from a poll in the Maw, or purely by recommendations here? I could start a seperate thread to talk about each nominated member.

 

2.Could we make a subforum for the Hall of Fame?

 

3.If we do, do we want everyone to see it at the start, or vote and then let everyone see it?

 

I know all of y'all(I sound like a Texan....git-er-dun)want to nominate yourselves, and that's a good thing. We'll wait on that for a bit until we get this stuff straightened out. But in the meantime you could make a resume so to speak for yourself. What have you done, how long, what good topics started, what good topics that you kept going, good discussions you were a part of, why you are still here, etc.

1. I think nominations in the Maw will be enough.

 

2. A subforum would be fantastic.

 

3. Everyone see it, but do the nominations in the Maw unless we get complaints.

 

Does anyone else agree/disagree? Is anyone still around in the Maw?
