What do you all think about the SW Legacy of the Force books?

 

I for one think they are good, except I really don't like what they are doing to Jacen. I'll expand more on this later, after others have put in their two cents. But the involvement of Boba Fett is pretty sweet, I must say.

Ive only read the first two. I must say that I was impressed. I expected them to be rather dismal. mostly because of the authors. I found Allston's x-wing books boring and predictable. And karen travis..... lets just say that her two republic commando books were some of the dumbest books Ive ever read. Anyway I was suprised and found both of the books to be good reads. I don't like how Allston potrays Jacen though, makes jacen look like an idiot. But I do like how he is turning to the dark side. It's about time that some protagonist actually does something other than save the day and almost fall to the dark side. happens in like every SW book, sheesh. I like bloodlines. That one impressed me the most, it kept me interested the whole time. But Travis's mandolorian fanboyism shows through it and I found those parts especially cheesey.

Read the third one. That's when it went downhill for me.

 

I disagree with you on the whole Jacen turning to the darkside thing. Now, by reading the New Jedi Order books, you can see that Jacen is very strong in the light side of the Force, especially in thie last book. He lights up with the Force and obliterates Omini(the evil Force weilding Yuuzhan Vong who caused the whole mess)and looks like he's matured five years. And then he turns to the dark side? It doesn't make sense to me.

 

Now,  I know Anakin Skywalker was strong in the light side before he turned as well. But his was to save Padme, and Jacen really doesn't have a reason. That's what I don't like about it.

I didn't put that right. I meant that I like the fact that jacen is going to the darkside. I agree that his motives for turning are really stupid, makes him look like an idiot.

 

who wrote the 3rd one anyway? and aren't there going to be like 6 more books?

yes theres going to be nine in total, and i cant think of the person who wrote the third one, but he wrote the dark nest books as well(if that helps). i dont mind what there doing to jacen but i just wish they could come up with better reasons, then what they have come up with, i also dont like the fact that in bloodlines ben starts to think that jacen may not be so great after all and then in the next book, he's back to thinking he is so great with out any reason.

well I hope a war actually breaks out. I'm sick of how in most books they're on the verge of war and the heroes always save the day and save the galaxy from a war breaking out. Well there's gonna be 9 books so they've got room for a war.

yes they really need another war going, the star wars books are always more intresting when you have a big war, clone wars galatic civil war, vong war(well maybe not the vong war). and that is why i like jacen turning evil, because i think he has the highest chance of starting a full scale war.

i've only read the first two and i hated them. they go the same way as the Swarm War books, i just hate them they have tried to take the turns to dark because of a love of a person thing way too far. It was good, when i happened to Anakin Skywalker, i thought ok, so its happened to Jaina Solo, but it just doesnt satisfy me for Jacen Solo as well.

 

Also i agree with AT AT Controller that they are over doing it with the Full Scale Wars. i think the Clone Wars then the Galactic Civil War, then the Ssi Ruuk War, then the Vong war, is getting too much.

 

I understand some stories can't keep along the Same lines, because of the Vong War but it is getting a tad old.

 

I also want to say that the Jacen Solo who was set forward after his Captivity is not the type of person to turn to dark especially after he is mean to have studied with the Fallenassi and the other VERY Peaceful Non Jedi!

Exactly my point. They are turning Jacen Solo into something he's not. I don't like that.
