Complete 6 DVD set

You know that mega-bombad 9-disc Ultimate Star Wars Saga box set that's been in the works for a few years now? The one that was expected to be released later this year to celebrate the 30th Anniversary? Yeah... maybe not so much anymore. I've been hearing from multiple sources now that the folks up at Lucasburg were surprised enough at the lackluster sales of last year's Star Wars Trilogy DVD re-run ("Now with Han shoots first!") that they're afraid they might have gone to the Sarlacc Pit one too many times, so to speak. There's talk apparently that the box set could get delayed a year or two to amp up demand for the films on disc again. Don't know how serious this all is, but that's the word that's blowing in the wind.

 

I just don't get Team Lucas anymore. They release the same DVDs we all already own last year and try to pull the "Hey, we're doing you all a favor by giving you the special non-anamorphic, zero-effort original versions as a bonus item!" and then they're actually flummoxed when they don't sell. What the REST of us know, is that they didn't sell because they were crap, and because everyone is waiting for the damn box set.

i dont think that a few years will get demand up for them. What i maybe require is a Sequel to be released maybe The Bakura crisis or maybe something Based on a Yuuzhan Vong novel. starring the Solo Kids and Corran Horn.

yeah i agree that the Thrawn Triology is worth making but also i think that the Rogue Squadron Series is worth making and maybe the I, Jedi Story that is my favourite book from the EU.

And yes, I agree with the whole "Thrawn Trilogy turned to Movie thing."  I also would like to see Vector Prime as a movie.  Though many people hate the Vong, I love em.

As for AT-AT's comment, Here's what I know for sure:

1. GL has already said that he won't include too much EU content because he doesn't want to favor one over the other, resulting in being pressured to make more films.

2. A Star Wars Live action TV series is starting up late this year, set between Episodes III and IV.

3. If EU books are adapted to film, it'd most likely be a TV show; it'd flow better anyway.

If you want to get on my bad side. you've just done it. Now For your information i have read every EU story available to me. Not just the Yuuzhan Vong Stories. i for one hate the most of the Yuuzhan Vong Stories, the reason i suggested them is because if you were to use the original actors in the films then that is the most practical Storyline to use because of ages of the Actors.

 

And if you EVER insult anyone on this forum again i WILL Ban you.

lol, you guys make me laugh, but I guess the reason I say some of those things is because I used to be a huge star wars fan (never read the books though, they bored me) but then lucasarts.com banned me after I had 1500 posts, and ever since then I have cursed them and their fans, (if any of you ever been on lucasarts, maybe you remember me, same name emperor cheeseman, just more evil) so yeah, sorry for any flaming..lol

 

well back to the subject at hand

 

the movies are good how they are, if they were to make anymore they should make like episode 7-9, but with new actors, it would be weird, but potentially good

I was thinking something similar.

Perhaps new characters? I made a fanfic awhile back that introduced three new characters; an Ithorian Jedi master who survived the CW, a Captain from the CW who started a private rebellion on Naboo during the GCW (sort of like Iblis), and an adopted boy with a mysterious past living on a newly discovered world called Ocescean.

 

I'm not asking that my characters be put into a movie, I'm just saying that adding new characters might be a nice touch (as long as they're creative; NO MORE TYBER ZANNS ). Basically, if they provide a different POV, it'd be interesting.

No, I'm talking something not even involving the GCW.  Since the galaxy is massively massively big, I was thinking something more along the lines of another planet way out in space; because I'm sure that there was somewhere in the galaxy where the GCW wasn't even heard of.  If Lucas leaves his storyline behind, and instead changes his storytelling focus on not tired, and YES the sextilogy's characters and setttings are a bit tired (but I still love em), characters and settings, I think he could revamp the whole universe.  As long as Lucas keeps his same feel, flavor, and wonderful storytelling skills going, it would be very awesome.

That's actually a very good idea.  Something like D803 is doing in his fic (similar to, not exact).  Focus on a few more planets and such that are in the Star Wars universe and talk about those.  Just no more Clone Wars >.
