Death Star Super laser

once i was playing a game against the rebels as the imps. i mangaed to locate a small fleet. i took my death star and an asssortment of destroyers to sack the fleet and raise support in the system to my cause. but i bit off more than i could chew. there were many small rag tag ships but had an mc-90 that was blasting the crap out of my destroyers the battle was looking hopeless until i was looking at the little thing in the right hand corner that was a green bar and had a pic of the death star. i clicked on the button at the end and got a targeting recticle. i was interested and right clicked on the mc90. the death star crew then said preparing to fire the death stars main cannon, and then it shot the mc90 with a giant green laser. i have been playing for years and just noticed this abilitie. do you all know it could do this?

Yes, the Death Star can be used in tactical combat to destroy enemy capital ships. It's a feature that has always been a part of the game.

 

The only downside is the recharge rate of the superlaser and its vulnerability to fighters.

Yea, even in the largest fleet engagments you only seem to get to use it twice at the most... seems a cad off how much construction points it costs to build a Death Star to have such limited lethal killing pleasure... :twisted:

Hmm, well I adjusted the weapon recharge rate to 7000 and I think it's going a trifle faster now. At least I can fire the thing twice now in a bigger battle.

i think the weapon reacharge rate for the super laser is in the actuall DS file and is not affected by the rebed weapon recharge rate...im pretty sure we discussed this a few years ago in the alt.games.lucas-arts.star-wars.rebellion newsgroup and came to the conclusion that the superlaser recharge rate is not affected by rebed. :cry:

 

Someone recently raised this question; but can we adjust the fire rate of the Super Laser, Evaders, using RebEd?

 

i also asked this question in another thread cause i was trying to build a DS2 card and i was trying to figure out how to increase the recharge rate so i could increase it to keep it inline with the general increase in all other stats.

 

ill conduct a little experiment and see what happens.
