I would like you help please! I am recently into making new planets. I already found a tutorial for planet making here (in the advanced modders section) http://eaw.heavengames.com/holocron/index.php?action=view&id=15

BUT it doesnt seem to work. When I put it into a campain like Kuat Shipyards it doesn't show the name and the info of the planet but I can invade it when its close to the other planets. What can be the problem ? Do you know?? Thanks

I already did that... Created these and saved it to MASTERFILE_ENGLISH.DAT

So what part of Earth is the map going to be located in?

Must be some typo error. Try to directly CTRL+C CTRL+V the string name.

That would be cool... But looking at the code I note that he is currently using Taris maps.

 

Although in my opinion: Earth + EaW Stock Units = Something very hilarious or crazy (let's say that I don't like to mix SW with other things from our 'crappy galaxy'.  )

Thanks for the good wishes but the problem is not in the location code. The planet does show ,but it is called MISSING... Every info on it is missing. The map works, I can invade it, but the name doesn't show. Why does this happen, I did it with DAT editor...  ???

First start troubleshooting step by step.

start with the planet name which is coded like this

TEXT_OBJECT_STAR_SYSTEM_DURO

now make sure that this (TEXT_OBJECT_STAR_SYSTEM_DURO / Duro) has been added to the masterfile_english.dat by using the dat editor.

If so and it still doesn't work then check your spelling and how you wrote the name (NO SPACES BETWEEN WORDS, CAPS AND SO ON) and compare with what is in the masterfile_english with what you coded in the line and then you should see any mistakes. Post as soon as you test the outcome so we can help more if needed.

Well, I just used Earth for fun. I used Taris as my map with this history:

 

"The mighty planet of Earth is known to be the origin of the human species. Earth has different kinds of terrains and very changeable weather. With the population of 10 billion humans Earth is one of the most populated planets in the galaxy. Way before the times of the Old Republic, Earth was the only planet where human species were present. The immigrating of Earth is restricted for alien species because of an old law written after the invention of hyperspace. Nowadays 70% of Earth is made out of cities and 30% is other types of terrain."

 

 

Why can't we dream? Maybe in another galaxy...

In terms of our reality vs. SW reality, yes that's impossible, but who cares? If you know how to mod, you can make many things that you like! Modding is, in other words, unleash your creativity!

Actually, its possible to be on earth, its just that earth will likely have no sentinent life, and might not even support life aside from single-celled organisms.

 

For all we know, maybe they did come here...oooooohhhh......

Except that you're limited to your skills, time, and patience. Adding Earth was a great idea. But whatever. A long while ago, I was thinking, maybe in Star Wars, humans didn't come from Earth...

The only inconsistency is "A galaxy Far, Far away"...unless you put it like...off the galactic map lolz.

 

But its kewl..I think there is a way of bypassing this though - making a planet which is a "gate" that allows fleets to travel to Earth, but meh, its creativity.

Its strange that it doesn't work tho. As long as all your entries are named correcty, it'll show up. Thats the only thing I see that's wrong. Typos XD

And I said that it would be really helpful and nice of you, to check it out, if it is correct or not. (making planets is in the Advanced modders section)

Or maybe you could just tell me how you made the planet in your way..
