How can I add FOC models on EAW?

Recommended Posts

Just a quick note here. Porting is not illegal. Example point in case:

Currently the situation with the game "Star Trek Legacy" is that you can convert models to Star Trek Armada format (denoted by SOD extension), and rename the extension to M3D (used by Legacy models), and use the model directly for Legacy (also true for those previously converted to SOD format). End result is a ported model from Armada to Legacy.

It's only porting if you put it in the internet. Otherwise, enjoy!

and when you're dead I will be

Anybody who thinks Palpatine is a sepratist knows NOTHING about star Wars

When in doubt- rocket it.

I do not understand how a modder from FOC or EAW can speak about legal or ilegal as if they was the most perfect on the world, if I´m not wrong many of the new EAW or FOC models added on mods are from a Homeworld 2 mod, a game from Sierra (if I do not remember bad), Is it legal? all them are on internet. And there are more, icons from Rebellion, from comics, from other SW games, and probably more, are they ilegal? If we think all these probably we are doing ilegal things.

By it I think that this discussion has not sense.

All the Star Wars models from Home World 2 were NOT made by Relic, So Relic has no say it what happens to it. Only unit's and coding and whatever else that have been made and protected by Relic's EULA is what they control.  What YOU want to do is bring lets say the SSD, Into regular EaW, By bringing the FoC unit's into EaW, There would be no need to buy FoC. And you are breaking the EULA, Where they just won't sue you, They will throw your butt in jail. Not only is not porting, But it's breaking the EULA, That's 2 fraction's right there, That's enough to keep you in jail for half your life. I have been reading this thread and it really is pointless. So i decided to try to end it. So let me make this clear, You can not bring FoC Models into EaW, It's as simple as that. If you need to know why, Google "Porting" or "EULA". Sorry if i sound harsh, But that's the way it is.

FOC Eula does not say nothing about this.

FOC is more than a few models and many are from EAW.

I do not go to import FOC models to EAW, is more I do not want FOC models to nothing.;) But if I would want add them, I would add them.;)

If you know me, I have many experience with import things from other games from the same creators, I know the Eula and they does not covert it.

Ah I do not go to discuss more this thread.

Uhhh, What do you think the EULA is for? It's there so you can't take anything from the game and put into anouther game. It's there so you can't claim nothing. It's there so you can't say, "Oh, I dident know that". That's why it's there, And that's why we have to click agree.

Yeah, but what makes FoC, it's not the new sounds, new graphics, new projectiles, its the models. That's obvious

Are you Petroglyp? No? end of the discussion. ::)

Don't have to be rude about it. And im sorry, That i can't stick up for a game company that i like. But it dosen't matter weather Petroglyph gets in this or not. The EULA of ALL games rated by the ESRB has the same EULA. If you want, i can get a direct quote from ESRB themselves saying why. Since you can't listen to all of us. Which has some very well respected members might i add. But im done, If you want the quote PM me. if you dont, Then have fun when the ESRB/FCC (Which enforces the ESRB) comes to arrest you/sue you.

Nomada. Please remember one important thing. Whilst its unlikely that you would get sued or thrown in jail over this, you would receive a C&D order, and believe me when I say that these orders can be quite frightening. Also there is the small matter of your work being pulled almost as soon as it is released, and I can't see you being the flavour of the month on ANY of the forums/sites that you would try to have your releases placed. Besides, why take the models directly from FOC?? There are other sources for many other them (with the exception of the ZC side). I would say try learning to do model conversions. Its quite hard to begin with but everything comes with experience, and besides. Once you actually start learning to port 3rd party models, you could try making your own.

One question to those who are on about Nomada being sued/arrested etc.etc. Have any of you actually thought about where he/she lives?? Many european countries don't come under the same style of legalities as the US and a handful would ignore such things.
