I spend more time on that Venator conversion than on made from scratch T3-B tank.

lol...that's what a high-quality warlords conversion should be.

It should take as long, if not longer than making a decent model from scratch....people always take shortcuts and we end up with crappy conversions a la AGD. Yes, we're missing a "good" ImpStar...something with breakoffs...I think.

 

I think Nal Hutta is big to contrast Nar Shaddaa...and nice projectile on that Mon Cal.

I think break offs are too chessy looking. It needs took look more like the Keldabe a huge blackened hole with fire and smoke.

That works too...but yes smooth breakoffs add to the unrealisim, although breakoffs are unrealistic, they look cool.

No, the Venator is Avengers model ;) LOL thats what we have been talking about :) Nal Hutta was made bigger and Nar Shaddaa sized down to emphasis that its a moon near Nal Hutta. I need to mess about with it more maybe reduce the size on Nal Hutta again. They are all using different planet models now. This new version of them is a bit tricky to get right with out the planets over laying each other and main one of the planets look like its cut in half ! LOL

 

Oh, yes sure if Avenger was to do another conversion I see a lot of people asking for Star Destroyers again :) that would be interesting I think.

I re did Nar Shaddaa but it's become more buggy than the way I originally had it. Its very hard to move any units on to the Nal Hutta's surface. (the way I had it previously it wasn't an issue)

I might have to use a larger Nal Hutta even though they aren't the proper size. Just to avoid the problem with the dragging units to Nal Hutta's surface. The main problem is that they are very close together and Nar Shaddaa's ring infringes on Nal Hutta when you would drag units to the surface.

This is how it looks when some units are on Nar Shaddaa - the size of the moon is now larger. (Why I made Nal Hutta much bigger to compensate for this) it's still tricky moving units around but it can be done. I managed to move people around more easily after tweaking more on it.

On high texture settings. People with lower gfx cards lower than a Geforce 6/7 might not see this shown properly in game.

 

AH DAMN. That looks good. (but purple O_O)

 

I can run everything but shaders, don't tell me you used shaders!

shaders - the MC90 doesn't have bump maps I checked.

There goes all my hopes and dreams of even being able to see this thing.

Damn. It'll probably just be a friggin grey blob.

damn how come ?

 

oh I found a bug the other day too. Captain Antilles Weaken Enemy effect crashes the game if you use it on ZC star fighter ? - I think its on the new ones I added. However the ability works fine if you use it against the Empire.

 

I can't figure this one out.  :-\

Yes, I like bump maps more than shaders.

 

Some people can't see shaders. Like me. Yea, its a miracle I'm playing EaWFoC anyway - I'm on a GeForce 4 Mx 440.

'Off-topic': Oh, fortunatelly now I can use all graphics settings in max and game runs very well - I run a GeForce FX6200 with 256MB memory and 1024MB RAM - but in my previous computer - it had a GeForce 2 with 32MB memory - I couldn't run any level in shaders and water, and in most models, there were almost no textures - the Immobilizer 418 cruiser didn't have textures, only the grey color of the model  :P, I couldn't see the skydomes in land battles, the details of Stormtroopers' helmets were only black things; oh, it was a #%$&... And I took two hours to finish a land battle in GC mode, since it only had 256MB RAM... I suffered a lot using that old computer...  :P

Yea I perfer bump maps over shaders. It just looks better....wish space addon had more detailed bump maps...

Is there really an alternative between shaders and bump maps? I don't think so. Clue #1: I need shader (meshbumpcolorize.fx) to apply a texture with a bump map. Clue #2: I haven't seen any bump maps when lauched the game on GF2MX ;D

All models use shaders (as long as you have PS capable GPU), some of them use bumps as well and these bumps are implemented through shaders - that's my view.

But let's don't make offtopic here ::)

Not at all Avenger what your saying makes sense to me at least. I think perhaps what some people will have problems with is the fact that their gfx cards are quite old and don't fully support Dirext X 8 or 9 shaders in the game because their card was designed for a version of Direct X that does not support those shaders. Hence reduced effects and appearance in the game.

 

Heck I first ran this game on an Intel gfx chip its was DX9 compliant, but lacked support for certain things in games, the game looked ok, but it looked even better when I bought my Geforce 7.
