problem with creating custom Veers_Deployed_Stormtrooper_Squad

I decided I wanted to make the Stormtroopers General Veers deploys from his AT-AT more powerful, so I

created a new type of trooper in GroundInfantry.xml called "Veers_Stormtrooper" as a variant of the "Stormtrooper" unit.  I changed several things such as Max_FOW_Reveal_Range, AI_Combat_Power, Targeting_Inaccuracy_Distance, etc.; & even created a custom Weapon for them in Projectiles.xml called "Veers_Stt_Proj_Hand_Blaster_Red" with increased Projectile_Damage, Range, & with a slightly larger beam width & length.

 

The problem is noticable in the game when I go to deploy Veer's Stormtroopers, he says his audio line, the troopers begin their descent down the cables, & then once they're about halfway down the game causes an error & freezes, giving me an option of reporting the error or debugging (I'm using Win. XP Prof..)

 

I'm guessing the problem is something to do with the GroundCompaniesEmpire.xml, as I changed the Squad_Stormtrooper, Squad_Stormtrooper, etc... in "Veers_Deployed_Imperial_Stormtrooper_Squad" to Veers_Stormtrooper, Veers_Stormtrooper, etc...

 

I'm sorry if I made it too complicated, but can anyone help with this?

the name of the veers deployed troops, did you change that from what ever it was to start with Veers_deployed_stormtroopers or what ever it was? if so thats your problem i spent 3 days trying to get him to drop other units(even buildings)and that name is hard coded or something

Perhaps your missing an entry like this in Groundinfantry ?

I know it should proably use this any way from the variant code your using, but perhaps you should make a new entry like the one above - and call that 'Veers_StormTrooper_Squad' or some thing. Instead of using a variant code - copy all the StormTrooper entries and re do them for Veers.

 

Hmm did you also check Veer's entry in Uniqueunits.xml and in herocompanies ? - that could also help :)
