Map Editor?

Now that I have some spare time, I want to learn how to map.  I have tried it myself but Im only used to the galactic battlegrounds saga map maker.  I looked for tutorials, but I couldnt find any.  If you can post a link to a tutorial I havent found or just point me in the rigth direction.

On the one named Mod Tools and Map Editor Walkthrough it says something about windows 97 conversion error....but im not on a windows 97...
