New Demo

does anyone know if this new demo is the same as the one one without the SSE1 problems or if its different?

yeh it's a different one!! supposedly includes the newer and updated AI and other improvements and i think SSE problems were fixed. Also includes battle of otumba, Hernan Cortez(spanish) versus the Aztecs near an aztec city!

i was downloading it because i was hoping something new was in it give me 20min and i can be sure.

 

Edit: damn the file wont starts it gets a error massage now I'm going to have to Download it again

 

Edit2: yeah the Hernan Cortez battle is almost imposible your out numbered(through not out gunned) and just when you think you might be able to hold them off and win. more aztecs arrive.

lol, yeh its a tuff fight. I beat it the first time but failed badly the second time. Just luck i guess.

I haven't got it yet but it seems interesting.

Beating the aztecs is what I have always wanted. Kill that damn american natives with the power of faith and gun of the Spanish Empire!!

I can't wait for the complete game.

thats power of faith and gun seems to fall against huge numbers of wood and stone welding natives

i finally beat the battle of Otumba.

basically i withdrew all my troops except one to the small hill thing and held my ground. when my reinforcements came i sent the reinforcements plus my cavalry to attack the head chief person and when the head chief person came near my hill i attack him with everything i had.

here is a pic of the finally score - not the best victory i ever had, but a victory none the less ;D

Good to see you killed that bastars savage people of aztects.

I often use the same tactic of retreating and/or holding the ground in RTW and will apply in the final game.

I hope to get it soon as it's a really turning point in the TW history. I hope to see a RTW II based and the same more evolved engine.

I won several clear victories at Otumba.

ive only one one but thats because i only wanted to beat the battles in the demo once

This battle is not well modelized.

 

Cortes had 13 horses left at Otumba. Had lost 2/3rds of his "army". Withdrawing to the coast, the surviving Spaniards (around 250 of them) and their indian allies were stopped by emperor Cuitlahuac with a 200,000 Aztecs army.

 

Cortes, followed by his best 12 cavaliers, having spotted the Aztec commander, surrounded by 40,000 elite troops, charged straight for the ennemy. And won.

 

This battle is surely the greatest victory in the history of warfare. It is a feat greater than the Thermopylae. Cortes was the only commander who challenged a 1000 times greater army, and won. It was practically a miracle.

 

This game got it wrong. Even if the battle is very tough to win.
