3. Rome: Total War

4. Sim City 4

5. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

I'm somewhat of an old-school gamer...

1. Final Fantasy 4 (JAP)

2. Final Fantasy 6 (JAP)

3. Final Fantasy 9

4. Chrono Trigger

5. Chrono Cross

6. StarCraft

7. Metroid: Zero Mission

8. Metroid Fusion

9. Super Metroid

9. Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past

I could really go on and on...  Most of my favs were on SNES, which got me through most of my childhood.  The Civ games were great, WarCraft 2 was good, like I said...on and on.  The above games are ones that I could actually pick up now and enjoy playing.

7. Metroid: Zero Mission

8. Metroid Fusion

I just fell in love with you.

My list:

1. Metroid Prime (Simply the best, better than all the rest)

2. Shadow of the Colossus (Probably the best game that never sold too well)

3. Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (A twisted enough plot for me)

4. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (Again great plot + nice enviroments)

5. Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (A deeply moral and great plot)

6. Knights of the Old Republic (No need for comments here)

7. Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords (Very underrated, on par with the first one)

8. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (Not as perfect as its predecessor but amazing also)

9. Resident Evil 4 (Not as scary as it should be but terribly addictive and well made. Regenerators... *shiver*)

10. Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (Simply a great Strategy RPG with lots of dialogue and itriguing story)

DK64

SSMB

BF2

HW

AOEII

and battlefront which is the best star wars game ever

There's no such thing as SSMB. SMB is Super Mario Brothers, and SSBM is Super Smash Bros Melee.

Battlefront was nice in splitscreen, but bad otherwise. I lack the ability to undestand how you can call it the best SW game.

well thanks for correcting my misuse of acronyms  ::)

battlefront is my favorite star wars game, because for once you can play as the bad guys and you can do whatever you want during the battles. It's also the best selling star wars game ever and that says a lot.

Sales don't mean anything at all. In fact at least half of the games that sell well are crap.

To you maybe it depends on your opinion you could think they are crap and others could think they are the best thing ever. Edited by Empireftw

The best games are those that rake in the cash better than other ones. Or at least that's how the game developers think when it comes the best games.

No they don't. There's a difference between good and succesful.

It's like music. Everyone has an opinion, some of them are just bad opinions.

a very small differnce

It's a matter of perspective. Most of the developers would rather have a succesful game than a good game. Still, they'd rather play a good game than a succesful game.

A lot of people here don't have EaW, but they stick because of the great community  ;)

That's right. I have EaW but I doubt it would even be in my top 50.
