VZaknaril Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Hmmm, I said that already Tofu...though I didn't really elaborate as well as you did. So the statement that AGP is equally as fast is incorrect, as Tofu stated. I haven't played a game where I need the full-duplex feature, but I imagine it will be a requisite sometime in the near future... http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m83/qalsip/zak1_demo.jpghttp://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/sf/type/2/zaknaril.png
SirNuke Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 Since PCI-e is full duplex, the max transfer rate is 4GB/s both ways. Theoretically, the total max bandwidth for PCI-e is 8GB/s. However, most (even high end) cards can't max out the AGP's bandwidth. Hence why the dual-core graphics cards (like the 7950) are able to perform almost as well as SLI-ing two single-core cards. That being said, I wouldn't get a new motherboard with AGP. Zing!
CommandoGamer Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 I got MDGMedia Center EditionSP2Pentium D Cpu 2.66 GHz232GB Nvidia Geforce 7900 GT No sli ready ............ Well i got a small tiny problem with this video cardVerything is ok but. The video card is asking for another Geforce 7900. So i will be bringing it back for a SLI ready one.
EJMM Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 Microsoft Windows XP Prosessional Procesor: AMD Athlon XP 3100+ MMX, 3Dnow. 2.2 GH 512 RAM, (1512 GB in a week) Hard Drive Memory: 143 GB ATI Radeon 9600 series 256 MB, DirectX 9.0c From when the RAM begins to be a fast one?, from the 1 GB?? http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/bg/type/2/Darksitheduardo.png
VZaknaril Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 Depends on what you want to do. And it's not just the amount of RAM, but it's clock speed as well. For most of your basic systems 1GB is more than sufficient. For a gaming machine I'd suggest 2GB (as well as a good video card). http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m83/qalsip/zak1_demo.jpghttp://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/sf/type/2/zaknaril.png
EJMM Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Well, I will have 1512 GB in a few weeks, thats enough I think http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/bg/type/2/Darksitheduardo.png
Grand Admiral Thrawn 889 Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 I'm getting 1gb of ram in the next week. and hopefully a New Graphics Card upping it to 256mb. instead of the 128mb i'm currently running. http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n292/Admiral_Antilles/Thrawncopy.jpghttp://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg I Support the Resistance!
