Jedi Master Tofu Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Hey, I dunno if any of you go to the Microsoft website frequently, but I do. Internet Explorer 7 RC1 (release Candidate 1) is available for download. I'll give a little review on what it is like: Pros:1. Tabs: they greatly reduce the clutter on your taskbar, much more organized. Now you can just click on a tab on the top of your screen to go to another web page rather than starting a whole new page. 2. Norton Internet Security 2006 now runs correctly on RC1. The never-ending refresh that would be an annoying problem has been fixed. 3. Cool new desktop icon. I always thought the blue was lame. Now it's got a streak of gold going through it. 4. Home Pages: You can now have more than one home page. It will load up each homepage you specify on a tab when you start IE up. 5. Web pages are displayed bigger. Cons: 1. No visible refresh button. Have to you use a hotkey to refresh. 2. When using a link, it starts a new page rather than a tab. 3. Takes some getting used to. Everything has been organized so it looks better but you have to find where it is all at. 4. Still has a few bugs, but all minor. Actually I don't have clue about these things, when people ask me what browser I use I say "uhhhhh...... the internet?" ;D
Jedi Master Tofu Posted September 28, 2006 Author Posted September 28, 2006 release candidate? so does that mean that it's not "official" yet? Actually I don't have clue about these things, when people ask me what browser I use I say "uhhhhh...... the internet?" ;D I'm not sure what it means either :. I think its a test of mabey like 3 different styles and the one that gets the most positive feedback will be the international release. Grand Admiral Thrawn 889 Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 Firefox is a internet explorer like the internet explorer that you get standard but i has built in differences and has other advantages to it. http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n292/Admiral_Antilles/Thrawncopy.jpghttp://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg I Support the Resistance!

Mikan Cyclone Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 It's a LOT better. I'm using it right now! It has a CRAPLOAD of extensions and stuff for it. It came out with tabs first (or before IE, anyways), also. GET IT. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a245/loverdog/pffuserbar1.jpghttp://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i276/At-At_controller/leetspeak4cz1jr.gif
Jedi Master Tofu Posted October 1, 2006 Author Posted October 1, 2006 Is the download loaded with that "and heres a message from out sponsor" crap? And is it compatible with Norton Internet Security 2006? "The leading cause of death among fashion models is falling through street grates" - Dave Barry.
Mikan Cyclone Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 No, and yes http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a245/loverdog/pffuserbar1.jpghttp://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i276/At-At_controller/leetspeak4cz1jr.gif

Eric072691 Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 IE 7 IS a Firefox wannabe. Anyways Microsoft isn't going to have extensions or themes (maybe themes) because they only want people using their stuff. plokoon9619 Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 When im playing a game or something or doing anything like every 2 hours internet explorer gives me like invisible popups that sends me back to desktop then i gotta click back to get to game and it does this for 15 mins. Does it still do that?
Jedi Master Tofu Posted October 21, 2006 Author Posted October 21, 2006 Ummmmmm, that sounds like it's automatically launching itself...I never had that problem, and didn't with RC1. "The leading cause of death among fashion models is falling through street grates" - Dave Barry.
