Actually, just because someone owns 3dmax doesn't mean they can actually model. I own max myself, and whilst I do model I have never used it for that purpose.

Well originally I modelled for Star Trek Armada 1/2 and creating the necessary hardpoint hierarchy with max is far easier than with either MS3d or UU3d. Same goes for EaW.

I really appreciated the mod and your ships. I have also tried to mis it with a dominion mod but the work was so much that i gave up. I hope you will be able to do same good work for EAW.

Well I've been slowly building up a small time personal mod (no where near as good as some of the already in progress mods by any means), which I'm working with to gain experience with the modding side of the game, but enough of my own work.

 

Heres a suggestion of my own. I know theres been some ground based infantry mods, but how about ground vehicles?? I've not quite gotten the hang of rigging them properly as yet, and if some nice person can provide me with some info concerning it (we're talking idiots guide BTW), then I may have a few choice items to release at some point, once I perfect the methods.

It could have attacks like the Rancor.

 

Main attack: (through hardpoints) Two heat rays.

 

Secondary attack: (tencile attack) grabs infantry units. Like Rancors eating.

 

Primary Special Ablity: Unless the tenicle that acts as recon. Could act like a sensor node.

 

Secondary ablity: War cry. Tripod unless a devestating shockwave of sound.

 

Would be heavily shielded and difficult to take down. If its in an area for a set period of time you could unless a type of... Redweed. You could do it through the hardpoints just make the recharge time long.

Also for the whale things in kamino (i believe they have been confirmed for FOC) here is the contradictions for the databank:

The aiwhas have existed, in one form or another, for over 20 years but they've only recently been incorporated into a Star Wars movie. Concept illustrator Ralph McQuarrie drew flying whales to populate Bespin in The Empire Strikes Back, but they were a casualty of budget and effects limitations. They resurfaced as transports in Return of the Jedi, but were ultimately replaced with the more practical sail barge and skiffs. For The Phantom Menace, the aiwhas (a deliberate corruption of "air whales") returned as Gungan mounts, but were again dropped from the finished film. For Episode II, they were also to be possible mounts for the Geonosians before finally finding a home on Kamino.

 

I believe they are also suppose to be on alderaan.

Yeah, tripod would be cool, (AT-AT vs Tripod! ) but too dificult to code and animate.

BTW, the tripod didn't have shields in the original War of the Worlds book (which took place mainly in 19th century UK); it just zapped everything that came within range. Spielberg added that.
