EJMM Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 How can I do it, and with what program? http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/bg/type/2/Darksitheduardo.png
swgbex Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Photoshop+ this plugin http://developer.nvidia.com/object/photoshop_dds_plugins.htmlthat works really well Or.. u could just use TGA files instead http://www.swgbex.com/sig.jpgHehe IA 2 venator
MajorPayne Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 So TGA files definately work then?? I've already tried but the one I tried to replace didnt' work. Are there any specific settings that need to be used??
swgbex Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 We can definately use them for skins.. i know that for a fact.. but i dont think we can replace them with the same name as their DDS equivalent .. unless we change the file name of the skin on the file itself.. which already seems to be in TGA format.. Its the same way generals worked And i never used DDS.. because i was too lazy to get the importer/exporter http://www.swgbex.com/sig.jpgHehe IA 2 venator
AdmarilRyan Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 I like MajorPayne tried to replace a texture with a tga but it didn't show up ingame, What bit depth ect. should be used?
EJMM Posted April 4, 2006 Author Posted April 4, 2006 Man, I downloaded and installed the dss thurmbail viewer, the plug-in, and now Hoe I use them?, I mean, I try to open Dss formats but nothing happens, do I have to copy the files somewhere or somethig? http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/bg/type/2/Darksitheduardo.png
swgbex Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 Do u have photoshoP? @AdmarilRyanWell i guess we cant replace. so we have to attach the skin using our 3d app.. but since we cant import them yet.. http://www.swgbex.com/sig.jpgHehe IA 2 venator

Have you ever tried using a hex editor on the models to change the texture names it uses? That may have the right effect. I'm not sure it will work but I have heard of nodes/hardpoints ect. being renamed in that way.
EJMM Posted April 5, 2006 Author Posted April 5, 2006 Yes I have Photoshop CS or wathever that is, but when I try to open a DDS Format, It says that it isn't the right Format... http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/bg/type/2/Darksitheduardo.png

In the file when editing in hex it says (filename).tga.. and it seems weird.. but yes TGA and DDS are both usable @EJMM i have photoshop CS as well and it works fine.. file open and dds is a supported file type http://www.swgbex.com/sig.jpgHehe IA 2 venator
