How to open dds formats?

We can definately use them for skins.. i  know that for a fact.. but i dont think we can replace them with the same name as their DDS equivalent .. unless we change the file name of the skin on the file itself.. which already seems to be in TGA format..

Its the same way generals worked :P

And i never used DDS.. because i was too lazy to get the importer/exporter

Well i guess we cant replace. so we have to attach the skin using our 3d app.. but since we cant import them yet..

Have you ever tried using a hex editor on the models to change the texture names it uses? That may have the right effect. I'm not sure it will work but I have heard of nodes/hardpoints ect. being renamed in that way.

thats what i meant when i said this

unless we change the file name of the skin on the file itself.. which already seems to be in TGA format..

 

In the file when editing in hex it says (filename).tga.. and it seems weird.. but yes TGA and DDS are both usable

 

 

@EJMM i have photoshop CS as well and it works fine.. file open and dds is a supported file type
