Naja Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 I've got a couple questions: 1. I know that Hutt Palaces and Cantinas are particular to only a few planets (Nal Hutta, Tatooine, etc), but in specialstructures.xml, it says nothing under "planetary requirements." Where would I have to change it to make Hutt Palaces and Cantinas buildable on say, Dantooine? 2. How do I remove the fog of war for a particular planet's space map and ground map? I know for example that the Imperial campaign has a ground Thyferra map with no fog of war. I've looked in planets.xml and I'm not sure if anything does it.
swgbex Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 the building question its actually not in the structures xml but its in the campaign .. check singleplayercampaigns.xml and before each campaign lists all the stuff on each planet it shows on which planets certain buildings can be built on http://www.swgbex.com/sig.jpgHehe IA 2 venator
Naja Posted April 1, 2006 Author Posted April 1, 2006 Thanks, that helped. I can find everything I was looking for, in terms of cantinas and such for Galactic Conquest. Unfortunately, I'm not having so much luck with the main campaign. In campaigns_main.xml, I can find the Rebel planets just fine, but I find nothing under the Imperial section. The Imperial section just looks incomplete. I can't do anything with it, let alone change which planets can build cantinas or hutt palaces. As for fog of war on particular planets (or all planets, for that matter), I'm still pretty clueless.
Mr.Caine Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 You should edit campain single player. Thats for sandbox mode. http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a105/333Super/BESERKER.jpg
Naja Posted April 1, 2006 Author Posted April 1, 2006 You should edit campain single player. Thats for sandbox mode. That's what I meant: campaign_singleplayer.xml works just fine, but I'm having problems with campaign_main.xml because the Imperial section is incomplete. And like I said, I'm also looking for a way to do away with the fog of war that doesn't involve increasing units' sight ranges.
JaiOwl Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Unfortunately I don't think you can make specific maps have no fog of war unti lwe get the map editor, I only way I think it could be possible would be to edit a particular object that you can guarentee will be on ONLY the maps you want to get rid of FoW for. This would require the object to be undestroyable, untargetable, and not count towards victory. However the issue is if you choose a map object then how will define who owns the object ? and how will you change it so that changing the object doesn't interfere with the gameplay (ie. make a barrack undestroyable). Disclaimer: I could be wrong ....
Mikan Cyclone Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 ummm...isn't the Main campaign in campaings_alpha.xml? http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a245/loverdog/pffuserbar1.jpghttp://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i276/At-At_controller/leetspeak4cz1jr.gif
NOT Hadoken13 Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 could you just make each side have a sensor thingy on every planet? or would that not work...i really have no idea if that is viable :-\ my EAW online screen name [PFF]HAdoken13
