Quinky Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 Well, I added the ships on the ground (from the victory mod) to my own personal little mod... but when i play a GC-game all the ships start on the ground! Is there a way to fix this? Cause the dragging ships to space gets old, and so does the fighting really small space fleets.... : Rock n' Roll!
Vanguard Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 Make the ships a variant of the Snow Speeder, when I say the ships I mean copy the X-Wing for example then rename it to SPEEDER_X_WING or something to that effect. Then make it a variant of the Speeder, and produced at the Light Factory, then you can build them from after you purchase the factory on the planet already. And the AI will still have working space fleets without their fighters starting on planets. Sorry if you don't really understand what I'm saying, that's just what I learned from reading two posts, so I don't really understand it either. I can't even add my own units .
FormulaRedline Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Unfortunately, the manual dragging of your units you'll have to deal with if you want to be able to use the same unit in space and on the ground. As for fighting small space battles, I'll release a version soon that has two seperate sets of files...one for the Rebels and one for the Imperials that gives the AI the option to build either the dual purpse od space only craft, since there is really no mechanism in place to tell them that their "ground" unit is actually useful in space. Quinky Posted March 26, 2006 Author Posted March 26, 2006 Oh well, guess It'll only be fun in multiplayer then....Maybe I'll see if the new patch really fixed the LAN-crashing Rock n' Roll!
JaiOwl Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 If your on-about what I think you are, that is that when you build the unit it always starts in the surface slots then just add this line to the actual unit and it'll be placed in a space slot when its built. Yes

Yes I'll try this right away in my mod, thanks! EDIT: Cool, it works! It even starts the ships in orbit at the beginning of the game. Note to editors though, you need to put the line on the individual units, not the company. Victory Mod - Space Ships in Land BattlesLegacy of War - Staff Member
