Post Patch 1.03 Lag Issues?

Ever since 1.03 came out, I've been having serious lag issues that I did not have before pre-patch.  The screen is extremely choppy and becomes nearly unplayable.

 

Prior to 1.03, my only issue was connection.  That seems to have been fixed with the patch.

 

My video card is NVdia 6800 and I am on DSL.  My roommate, who is MCSE and a network guy, assures me that our internet connection is fast.

 

I have tried lowering my video settings but the issue remains. 

 

Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?  What happened with 1.03 that is causing me to have huge lag issues?

OK I found out what the problem was.  I had always turned off my firewall (McAfee) before I started any MP game.  Just for the heck of it, I decided to leave it on last night and see if I could connect.  To my surprise, not only did I connect, but the lag issues went away.  Talk about strange!  But it works great now.

I would also add that I opened up the Firewall settings in the McAfee program to allow EAW to go through, as well as having my roommate do something to our router to open up the ports.
