Hello all,

I finally have gotton a chance to play with all the school work, and I loved the first campaign I did, but I went to play Galactic Conquest and all I wanted was a 40 planet map where each faction starts on equal footing and couldnt seem to find that anywhere, the empire one I started and the empire had a huge huge advantage.  Then,  went to the advanced options and couldnt find anything.  If anyone has suggestions or whatnot please let me know, sorry if this is a bad question haha.

Yea the galactic maps are very limited at the moment.  We are all waiting for the map editor to be released so that you will be able to make you very own starting conditions.  I hate the beginning of any galactic conquest.  You have to rush and try to defend you frontlines with old technology.  All the while being broke.  If you can survive the first "month" or so of gameplay, your golden though.

Give us the map editor petro........soon.....please....

What about the 43 planet galactic conquest? I haven't played it, but from the looks of it both sides will probably be more even. They at least have the same amount of starting credits.

About the map editor, don't get your hopes up. I don't think that a galactic editor will be included, you would have to mod or dl mods to change the galactic maps. I may be wrong, but we haven't heard anything about a galactic editor.

New Content

* Added a new Multiplayer Land Skirmish map: "Corellian Countdown." This Skirmish map allows players to raise their own population cap by taking control points. This is similar to how land maps in Campaign games work.

* Added a new 43 Planet Multiplayer Campaign Map: "Lines are Drawn." This is a larger Campaign map that contains all of the planets from galactic map used in the story.

That is a quote from Delphi from the link. Enjoy!

Single Player GC tip on how to survive early on:

Rush to get planets, just not too fast that you can't defend them.

I have 1 barracks + 1 light factory on every planet (kessle I max. with land units, sell the factory and barracks, and replace with mining faculties because it has only 2 land spaces) and all the rest is mining faculities. I produce everything(troops, ships, etc.) at 1 planet (defended, is a capitol ship producer planet). So I get a great income and every planet is defended (rebels all planets have garrison of 2x. Troopers, 2x. Plex, Empire: 2x. Stormies, 1x. At-St, 1x Scout AT IMPORTANT PLANETS(producer, and/or high credit value ones) maybe At-At after I have a credit surplus and at Tech 5.)

It sounds like there are many ways to go about this.  I usually find it easiest for me to try to guard the starting planets from space since I'm much better at turning back forces in space than on land.  I typically do something similar to the above on land until I can tech up.  At that point, I try to rush up to the tech level that allows ion cannons (or perhaps the hyper gun, but I haven't tried out the Imperial side yet).  If I can max these out on planets with few ground spots, and get about 3-4 on others that allows me to turn the rest into mines.

If a force attempts to take the planet, they have to go through the augmented space forces first (at least the Imperials do, this would probably backfire if playing as Imperial, however, since Rebels can raid past your space defenses).  With proper use of ion cannons, I can hold back far superior Imperial fleets.  All one needs to do it work from greatest threat to least, firing a shot at each to disable, then using the additional available ion shots to take down shields on other targets.  This acts as a tremendous force multiplier for the defender while giving the attacker fits with reduced firepower (disabled units) and reduced or ever NO shielding.
