EVIDENCE OF DIPLOMACY!!

Maybe LucasArts told Petro to remove Diplomacy and Repair because they wanted a game for the unaspiring huge masses of kids that want to play a game as fast as possible, with as many quick battles as possible, without the need to take care of diplomacy and unit repair. The kind of people you can often see on the LucasArts forums, ranting and whining about the most ridiculous stuff.

 

If they put it back in with a later expansion I'll be happy, though.

Doubtfully.  The only remaining stuff for it is in the text entries.  Unless of course, someone finds something to suggest thisis possible....

Which unfortunately killed the game for a lot of us.  I haven't played EAW since the first week when I bought it except to try the beta builds of some mods.  I am currently waiting on some of the more promising mods to develop but honestly I've lost almost all intrest in the game.  Having picked up Galatic Civ II and playing it non-stop for three weeks and still feeling that I've only scratched the surface, I can only wish that Lucas Arts and Petro had gone more that route in regrads to the Galatic Map part of the game. Which by the way seems to be selling like crazy.  Maybe somewhere down the line we will get a game with a strategic componet like Galatic Civ II, and real time space battles like EAW.  Until than I'll hold my breath for the talented modders to come through with either a good overhaul of EAW or a Star Wars mod for Galatic Civ II.

Nobody managed to get the tools before they got yanked by the devs? If someone did and they didn't upload them, they should probably be hunted down and interrogated...

I want to say there is no way LA could not release the modding tools, since that was a major selling point of the game, but knowing LA and knowing there is work on an expansion I can see them "forgeting" to release the mod tool.

If LA keeps up tho, people will EVENTUALLY stop buying the games, and hopefully things will return to classic LA.

 

But who knows when a game just being star wars will stop making it an instant hit. Untill then LA doesn't care what quality game they throw out there.

Then should we harass LA by mass emailing them until they put a big red sign saying

 

"We have the right to not read your emails and will automatically delete them if its anything to do with feedback about the game"

 

then we mass mail them until somewhere along the lines they put another red sign saying

 

"We will not read mail and will automatically burn them if its anything to do with game feedback"

 

Then we would have to look at Petroglyph sneaking tools without Lucasarts approval ?  ;D Call me crazy but Lucasarts should get a nice boot in the butt for removing diplomacy and ship repairs. Its annoying having ships at 5 percent health  > So lets mass email them already!!!! Email them until they submit

YES!!! MASS EMAIL (What's their email?) LA has been doing this for awhile. Galactic Battlegrunds had a map eitor but...come on. Rebellion had a editor built by fans. GB had a fan built one...WHY CAN"T THEY COROPORATE!!! We shouldn't haveto take this! Petro is not to blame, that;s for sure. They proably could have left all the models and stuff in but DEEP in the code....Then we could have 'em! Same ges for Lego SW. I was pissed when it only went up to 3...Where are those Petro guys anywho?

Before I agree to spam one of most succesful game makers of all time, I need to know a few things:

 

1. If the stuff can be modded back in.  I know diplomacy can't be, but still, some of the other things might.

 

2.  Attempts at diplomacy failed.  By this, I mean talking logically.  It would seem annoying if we just spam them yelling and cursing about how cheap they are if we don't try to reason with them first.

 

3.  They're E-mail address.  I'm to lazy to go there and check, so could someone post it?

Maybe we should just make a huge list, collecting virtual signatures of people who support the cause. This would probably have more success than simple mail-spamming. The guys at LucasArts or Petro (who could forward this to LA) would surely more interested in this than countless e-mails from some individuals who just lead to deletion without even reading the stuff.
