Guest JediIgor Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Should I even ask how this game got through QA?

Guest JediIgor Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 I sent all my ships in that corner, in the end I had to pick Auto-Resolve. Thanks a lot stupid bug, you made me lose 2 Acclamators due to the game's magical auto-resolve system.
DragonShadow Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Auto-Resolve punishes the user, I'm certain. I auto resolved a land battle and lost 2 AT-ATs, 5 AT-STs, 2 Speeder Bikes, 8 Stormtrooper companies, 1 Field Commander, 3 Podwalkers, 2 2-M Tanks, 6 TIE Crawlers and 1 SPMAT and the rebels lost 2 T2-B Tanks, 1 MPTL squad, 1 Plex Soldier squad, and a Barracks... What sounds wrong with that? I won, but c'mon... http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/NightshadowDragon/RyuuKageSIG.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/NightshadowDragon/AoSW-JCW_Banner.jpg
Zer_Teron Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Someone found a variable that proves that Auto-Resolve is very against you. It turns down your units strength and effectiveness while it uses bad tactics. http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/3488/zersigef1.jpg
rogueace127 Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Well, it does say in the instruction book that if you auto-resolve a battle, you would lose more units than if you had commanded the battle yourself. Does ANYONE actually read instruction books before they play a game?!
cyclonetwist Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 just to prove auto resolve sucks here is a acopy and paste from the capital ships XML its from the calamari cruiser. 25008500 :

Does ANYONE actually read instruction books before they play a game?! I already knew that, I was just giving a friendly warning to auto-resolvers...I play most ground missions because it's worth the extra time to save many (or some cases, all, I've saved, autoed, then loaded and played to see the difference) of your units from certain death. Units are expensive. http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/NightshadowDragon/RyuuKageSIG.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/NightshadowDragon/AoSW-JCW_Banner.jpg
Zer_Teron Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Ive had a huge fleet lose to a tiny rebel fleet when i auto resolved, and when i reloaded and did it myself i didnt lose a single one. Never auto-resolve unless you have a 200 to one advantage over them. http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/3488/zersigef1.jpg
DragonShadow Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Even then, don't do it if you can avoid it. You lose a lot of money rebuilding the units you lost. http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/NightshadowDragon/RyuuKageSIG.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/NightshadowDragon/AoSW-JCW_Banner.jpg
Naja Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Ive had a huge fleet lose to a tiny rebel fleet when i auto resolved, and when i reloaded and did it myself i didnt lose a single one. Never auto-resolve unless you have a 200 to one advantage over them. Or, you can just act like the computer and do nothing but mass a shitload of Corvettes. Your auto-resolve will probably work!
SirNuke Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 The autoresolve doesn't seem to favor more units. My favorite tactic/abuse of this is sending a single Infantry squad into a heavily guarded enemy ground force. Even though you will always lose the infantry, the enemy almost always loses at least one ground unit. Of course, any smart human player won't agree to autoresolve if that's being used against him. However, how does the decreased autoresolve health work? If both sides' units decrease, it won't effect gameplay. Zing!

Zer_Teron Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Try 18 ISDs killed by a Lvl5 Statoin and a single MC cruiser do to Auto Resolve http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/3488/zersigef1.jpg
Dorkthehunter Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Try 18 ISDs killed by a Lvl5 Statoin and a single MC cruiser do to Auto Resolve Hehehehehehehehehehehehe......and the moral of the story is: Don't Auto-Resolve!!! Mr.Caine Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 But then again it gets annyoing when a enemy comes with about 45 corvets and you have a LV5 space and about 5 ISDs and you dont feel like fighting them so you auto resolve. http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a105/333Super/BESERKER.jpg
