Question about modeling/texturing

Mostly, texturing. How do you do texture mapping. This question is mostly directed to LoW and IA II devs, but anyone who knows feel free to impart your wisdom. I'm an amateur modeler, but have no clue how to make texture maps.

Good tutorial. I'm running off Gmax right now (freeware of 3DSMax, made by the developer) until I can get 3DS. This will be extremely helpful.

skinning is like extremely precise drag and drop

 

U make a map of where uwant all the stuff to  go.. u make map with those areas colored in your favorite paint tool.. eg. photoshop..

then u just drag and drop to the model ..

that was really the general form of doin so..if u want help on how to do it in gmax or 3ds i could help if u pm me
