Hello.  I am making a few mods for myself, and I need some help on a few things. 

 

First, I wanted to add an anti-fighter laser( like a tartans) to a star destroyer.  I know I've made the hardpoint attached it to a bone, and put it in the star destroyers hardpoint list thing, but it doesn't work.  Can any one help me with this?

 

Also, I know this has been asked before, but how do you put in Xizor?  I've tried about everything; I put him in uniqueunits.xml and herocompanies.xml, but whenever I run the campaign I put him in, he's not there.  Any help would be appreciated.

You can use existing hardpoints, but if you want to make a new hardpoint bones comeinto play. The bone tells where the hardpoints is kept for example.

 

Tells the ship its ok to have this hardpoint.

I'm still working on that, my progress on that particular subject got a little...interuptted.  Anyway, when I get back from church, I'll start working on it.

 

Note: I think I found Xizor's land model, so I'm gonna try putting that in.  if it works, I'll release it publically.

 

Edit: If anyone knows what file the icons are found in, it would be of great help.

I'm stumped.  I have Xizor in herocompanies, namedherounits, and uniqueunits, but I STILL can't get him to work.  I've doubled checked everything, added all sorts of compatibility and stuff, but I still got nothing.  here's what I have: (note: i'm using kyle's icon for him.)

 

 

Edit: The land thing is all screwed up.  I tried playing it after I deleted the land battle and the game actually worked, but I didn't seem him in the GC i put him in....  I'll put up the files for DL this time.

I guess this would be the best place to ask, since nothing above has really helped me.  I'm trying to add a concussion missile hardpoint to the Star Destroyer, but I'm not sure how.  I know how to add it to the ship in the SpaceUnitsCaptial file, simply by adding it to the list.  But in the Hardpoint XML file, I don't really know what to do.  I copied the Concussion missile hardpoint from the Pirate Space Station, and made everything match the other Star Destroyer weapons, but I'm having difficulties getting it on the actual ship.  I don't want to replace another hardpoint, I just want to add a new one.  I tried putting it on the same bone as the Rear Left Ion Cannon, and even got it to show up and function ingame.

 

However, being on the same bone as the Ion Cannon made the ion cannon impossible to target.  The concussion missile launcher was destroyed in combat, leaving the Ion Cannon hardpoint in the same place.  But even though it was targettable and destroyable, the Ion Cannon couldn't be harmed, making the ship indestructable.  So obviously, the launcher can't be placed on the same bone as a preexisting hardpoint.  So how do I make a new bone or something to place a brand new hardpoint on my Star Destroyer?  Thanks for any help.

As of now, i don't think it is possible to create new bones.  This involves using a 3d modeling program and adding new bones to the model.  However, since there isn't a .ALO pluggin for max yet, it's not even possible to open these models up.  At least I think.  If anyone knows a way, or knows of a pluggin, it could be possible.

Ok.  So basically the only way to add new hardpoints to a ship is to remove an replace an old one?  Because if so, bye bye tractor beam.  Thanks for the help.
