Adding the ATAT Ability, deploy stormtroopers to another unit..

As the title says, I have been trying to add the ability, (ATAT Ability)  deploy stormtroopers to another unit, with out very much success I might add. Its not just a case of giving the ability to another unit.

 

I have scoured the XML files and tried to implement the required changes, but to no avail the game crashes.

 

My question is, how exactly does the ATAT spawn the troops?

Is there a hardpoint needed to actually make this possible? If so where is this hardpoint located within the XML files as nothing seems to be listed under the ATAT within the hardpoint XML file.

 

It feels as if i have been banging my head against a brick wall now for 2 days. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, the At-At has an animation when its deploying, and I assume that it looks at the unit you set it to and sees there is no set animation or point to deploy from and crashs.

The best use of this would be to make starship spawning units (ISD, VSD, Acclimator, Starbases) able to activate the spawn manually.  This way the isd can't have its entire complement of ships wacked by a CC rush.  Why would an Imperial commander launch the ships if they are certain to be destroyed?

Probably because people would forget to launch fighters from cap ships in the middle of a heated battle.
