rebeldream Posted February 27, 2006 Share Posted February 27, 2006 What are the best strategies when you are attacking a system with an asteroid belt and a bottleneck opening? I got my rear end handed to me yesterday when my 4 star destroyers tried to go through the bottleneck opening and 3 of the ships collided with asteroids, or at least it looked like they were colliding with them. Garbageben Posted February 27, 2006 Share Posted February 27, 2006 Ironically Petroglyph, when asked if you tried to move a bunch of units close to asteroids, said that they would not naturally go into asteroids unless ordered there and those ships on the edge would not get "pushed" into the asteroids. Now that we've played the game we know that that is not true. I had 3 Interdictor cruisers and clicked across the asteroids (yes away from the asteroids) and 1 went through the choke point and the other 2 barged into the asteroids and got blown up.
