Cannot change teams in multiplayer games.

Not sure what causes this, but currently it is impossable for me to change my own team or color in any game I join or create. Many times I am asked to change teams, and when I am I try to explain this bug how I can't. Well here it is for all to see, and hopefully for the Petro team to fix for those effected by this.

 

I am not the only one with this, as I have seen it effect at least 5 other players in online games. If you look at the teams of each player closely after joining several games you will probally see someone trying to change their team but it going right back like what I show here. Other players see the same thing I do of it switching back and forth, so this is not just a visual bug.

 

Please look into this if possable, intill then I will be unable to pick a faverite empire. Although thats fine since I like both.

i dont think its a bug but then again its not probably coded properly, i seen and know what you mean the only way you can sort this is by leaving the hosted game room and then coming back in, this kind of thing only happens when you click the Accept button this will lock you rdy for play meaning you can change your Faction you want to play for and the colour for yourself.

Sorry, you are wrong. In that video it does look like I have pressed accept, but I am the host if you see my only buttion I have to the bottem right says start.

 

This bug happens every time I join or make a game, if the accept buttion has been pressed or not. I can NEVER change my teams without the host switching maps like I did in the video, or me leaving the server, which usually ends up 75% of the time me losing my spot inless I know the person hosting.

I think I've found the reason and/or a workaround.

On my game (and a few of my friends), our side is set to the last team we played on Lan.

To change it, host a Lan game and change your team. If you chose Rebellion, your team for online games will be set to Rebellion. If you chose Empire, you'll be able to play Empire online.

Same problem and same solution for unit color.

In all multiplayer games I join, it seems to automatically balance the teams when you first you. It will always put you on the team that has the least players. When someone changes their team after it has been balanced is when the teams become uneven.

 

The workaround of changing the map does not always work for me either. It usually only works when the teams are uneven (like only 1, 3 or 5 in the game).

 

Still, i'd like to be able to change my team while ingame so that when a host asks me to change teams, I can and don't have to say "because of a bug I am unable to change teams" which 75% of the time results in me getting kicked from the server due to them not belieaving me and thinking I am refusing to even the teams.

 

The sooner this bug is fixed, the better the multiplayer matchup will work, as I am not the only one with this bug.
