Log of Errors - Message by Tuesday, Febuary 21.

Well I assumed Delphi meant a log of errors that could be fixed so if you have any error Petro could fix up just post it up here and make it simple.

 

Important:

- Game stability such as getting past the forming connection screen for random people (PFF_Zerogravity for example who stopped 3 people, maybe boot the person who cant connect or say who cant connect)

- Stronger AI - Another level of hardness.

- Once I checked my stats of the end of the skirmish match I then clicked on Host game quickly which froze my game then I had Alt+Ctrl+Tab out and click cancel instead of retry.

- Rebel Troopers should at least die from a shot from AT-AT common. Its like me with current day body armor being shot with a Tiger Tank Round

- Able to save your replays so you can send them to other people if you want.

- If attacking the Pirates in multiplayer campaign the other player would be able to spectate the battle so a) So they wouldn't lose ships as fast and b) other player wont get bored.

 

Some Features which would help the game:

- Buddie Chat - Give it more characters such as what I put above ^. (told Delphi) Also told Delphi if he could add a buddie beep of some sort for the chat when someone logs in.

- Clan chatrooms (10 to make one)

- SPECTATORS and an option to allow those in buddy list to watch  ;D

- Imperials should get 2 Tartans or give the Rebels 1 X-Wing for starting units

 

Ok guys post up since hes looking for things to fix and this should be filled out by Tuesday.

a Posible Fix to having seen people spaming the chat in the loby's how about a:

 

Some Features which would help the game:

-1: Ignore or Mute button.

-2: more of a side note realy, decrease Millenium falcons shields thier way to strong, it should not be able to take on a Vic SD or SD then again its a Hero unit but still.

-3: Boba Fett should be streagnthend, his special should release 3 Sismic Charges in 1-2 sec intervaults and then 3 min cooldown perhaps or 2 mins pending. Also he needs a shield increase hes taken out as quickly as a horde of Tie fighters against a Corvette compared to the Falcon.

-4: VSD's and SD's need 2-3 small gun implacments at the back of the ship so they have a chance to defend whilst turning, which dosnt effect the Mon Cal because thiers goes 380 around. Its a posability at least and its inkeeping with the lore as VSD's and SD's do have gun emplacments behind them to protect thier rear jsut like any other ship more or less.

-5:Tie Fighters could use a Boost in either Fire power against other fighters or increase thier numbers, or to also make them good against X-wings seeing they can be realy good against them in movies etc this would counter blance a rebel fighter rush that happens in MP with mines seeing Tie Fighters have no chance, alternative in section 6 also could be taken into account.

-6:Add in the Tie Interceptor, it is in keeping with the time line though thier wernt many and it can be used to counter act against X-wing and A-wing though tech lvl 3 probably. Add Tie Int threw patch is a posability isnt it :) a sort of sorry presant or some thing.

-7:Give VSD'S and SD's the same shield recharge abiliuty as Mon Cals have and the Assault Frigates, this would put VSD's and SD's onpar with both, as Mon Cals have to much advantage in battle atm.

 

So we dont strain our eyes anymore.

ok first off

- An ignore option for all the kiddy's in the lobby, they act so immature and dumb that i think it has a degrading effect on the gameplay.

 

- Possibly a spam guard function, where as if someone talks so fast for so many lines they have to be prevented from talking for so long. Empire Earth has one of the best lobby's i have ever seen. it had something along the lines of type 3 lines within like 3 secs you had to wait to type again for like 10secs.

 

- Possibly have buddy chat on screen w/o having to switch windows, like make the text for buddy chat diffrent than lobby chat, but still have it show up in the lobby chat as only the buddy being whispered can read.

 

- Make it where we can see the lobby even though we are staging in game prior to it launching, so we can say a game is up and w/e else. It makes it more convenient to get ppl to join games.

 

- I noticed that i could never load in a game until i hooked my router in. I would also refresh before joining/hosting a game. this seems to have solved the problem somewhat. Maybe add an auto refresh option that refreshes every minute or something.

 

- Definitely give the imps more tie's starting out in space combat skirmish. because the rebels seem to be overpowering the imps with their superior fighters.

 

- Sort out the lag issues. I played a game earlier where some guy with cable internet was my teamate yet he lagged like the entire game. It doesn't make since  that when i dont use a router (just run off my cable modem) i have connection problems while trying to start a game at the connection screen.

 

All in all, the game is great. But on line it's a total mess when trying to connect in game and the on line chat system could use some work aswell. But once connection/ chat system problems have been alleviated the game will be very good IMHO.

 

I hope this will help you dev's out in sorting these issues.

1. For some special units, certain actions make them 'revert' back to their regular copy's voice response.  The heroes that are boosted versions of regular units, and the force corrupted units do this.  Also fighters lose their vocal responses when assigned and selected from a group.

 

2. Right clicking after selecting bombardment (on land) will both order the units you have currently selected and cancel bombardment.  It should only cancel bombardment.

 

3. Much more aggressive AI in skirmish missions.

 

4. Make ground units move around obstacles to fire, rather then trying to fire through them.

 

5. Sometimes changes in ground texture blocks firing.  I noticed the especially with Tie Maulers on the first Imperial mission.

 

6. Add some GUI controls for the furthest land zoom out levels, particularly so we can still use the special abilities of units.

 

7. Shortcuts (single keys, like T for Tie Fighter or something) for building units.

 

8. Perhaps the option to purchase lost Tie Fighters in capital ships (particularly for the acclamator, which always runs out long before the ship is lost in skirmish).  Unless that's part of the balance.

 

9. If you change the allies/all in game messaging check box but don't send a message, it looses that change.

 

10. Multiplayer connectivity problems.

1. Why are the T4-B so angry about concretewalls. When you just send in an area near those walls around buildingpads they will destroy them first instead of shooting at enemy units around them. OK, sure you can order them. But doesn´t made sence to me. Walls are not really dangerous.

 

2. The AI in hard mode is not more intelligent (Imperial Campaign). Just spamming units without creating any effective fleet. The AI attacked three times one of my planets.

3 Tartans (1 spawning from the station)

 

Attacking Rebel Forces:

1 Corvette

1 Neb B

26 X-Xwing

27 Z-95

 

1 Corvette

2 Neb B

26 X-Wing

1 Y-Wing

26 Z-95

 

1 Corvette

2 Neb B

15 Y-Wing

6 Z-95

 

In the last two battles i lost one Tartan. I think against a human player my Tartans where no match even if the Rebel fleet was not very effective. Ai never trys to get rid of my Tartans. Never launch effective torpedo attacs. Came along with nearly single unit fleets. This kills really the fun factor.

1. Harder Difficulty Levels

2. More F****** Units!

3. More Harpoints (inlcuding weapons) on an ISD and MC Crusier

4. Better Internet Connections

5. MEG Extractor That Comes With The Game!

6. Shield Generator That BLOCKS certain units (hate the enemy barging into my base while all the shield does is block weapons)

7. Better Fighting Uses (not through obstacles)

8 Better AI!

 

thats only a few, but I consider the game (without its faults) great.

after numerous games i foudn that when the host sets his upnp to off then makes sure everybody in his game has upnp off the game loads and runs properly, it's worker 5/5 games so far, it was the problem because prior to do thing method, hughes could never palyed, but now i just finsihed a game with him. this is just something for you dev's to look into and see if this might be another solution to fixing connection problems.

Issue, can be detrematal in multiplayer:

 

1: Y-wings special the Ion cannon dose to much dmg to Capitol ships of VSD and SD's, by all means it should be able to damage VSD's or SD's shields because of thier shier size not to mention it be very difficult, you dont see a Tie Bomber going around with an ability to super bomb a Mon Cal then again that might not be a bad idea lol.

Um i was playing in Singal Player Campaigne extensivly again yesterday and found that the AI has a far to quick firing rate for Ion Cannon to fire, i lost a whole fleet because of that yesterday of 7 SD's 8 Vics, 8 Aclli's and 12 Tartens, it wasnt just the Ion Cannon firing very quickly again it was also the fact that Rebels with thier fighter and thier Y-wings do to much dmg and smaller Ships like Corvetts have to much fire powqer when comes to anti fighter fire, when with big Cap ships targeting Corvetts they dont go down fast enough. So this is what i also want ot suggest, so adding to the ones that i already said. Also Mon Cal ships are extreamly difficulöt to take down as Imperial even with Bomber you got to get the bombers to the Mon Cals and that in one peace with Corvetts firing like mad on your bombers and fighters.

 

-1: Increase Acclimator, VSD and SD's accuracy upon hiting smaller ships like corvetts and gunships, as they go down way to slow.

-2: Mon Cals need a serius tweaking, either give them shield Generator like Imperials have on thier Bridge, or as said in thread above give Imperials the shield recharge ability like Mon Cals and Assault Frigates have.

-3: Ion Cannon fires far to quickly in Singal Player Campaigne same would go for Galactic conquest as this is the case, make it a 5 min cooldown on the use of Ion Cannon and Hypervalocity Gun.

-4: Lower the shield dmg that Y-wings can do, it actual fact they shouldnt have that ability as thier Ion Guns are to small to do any real dmg to Capitol ships to actualy effect then, so get rid of thier special ability as its easy eough for Rebels to take out a VSD or SD all you have to do it take out the Shield Towers.

-5: Atm i dont see Ionized Ships coming out of its Ionized state, either its the Ion Cannon firing to quickly or its a perminent in which case either is bad because its using a Cap limit that you can have to actualy have ships on the field of battle, so please change it so that ion Cannon fire on any kind of ship only lasts 1 min max.

-6: If you want to add a good anti fighter/Bomber to Imperials Fighter list then allow Tie Advanced to be build, the one that Vader has his model can be used and then add in new info to patch to add this fighter to the game, it should be good that it can take out X and Y Wing's this wuold make things Balanced, or Vader's space fighting should also be able to take out Z95-Y-X and A Wings.

 

Ground Units.

-1: AT-ST's should ber better at killing Infantry with thier guns, its like saying im  going to swat a flie with a Flie swat and i hit it and it dosnt even die.

-2: AT-AT's shouldnt be to supseptable to Rebel Proton Launcher Vehicals or Plex Soldiers, not saying they cant do dmg but they shouldnt do so much as they are doing to AT-AT's as thier extreamly heavly armored.

-3: the AI should be restricted upon the ammount of troops i can have when protecting a planet just like i am restricted as an Attack, as the AI can replenish its troops etc unlike me once my reserves are gone thats it lol.

 

Hmm well this is all i can realy think of atm in the addition to the things i already posted.

hey guys, not sure if this is the right forum to post this in, but i think this was the better forum to post it in rather than the general discussion.

 

 

Anyway, pretty much i'll summerise the points that i mentioned on the LA Forums:

 

i had a few games with delphi, i agree to what he says, and i dont know if a thread like this exists, and forgive me beforehand if i discover one later, but here it goes:

 

 

Pretty much in point form, i have summerised what needs to be changed (IMHO):

 

 

Things to be Nurfed:

 

- Corvettes - Way too strong, far stronger than the tartans, their shields are so much more powerful and with the speed boost can evade destruction on so many occasions. they destroy fighters so quickly its not funny.

 

- Nebulon B Frigates: For their cost, they get pumped out way too quickly and aboslutely rape Acc's.

 

- Han Solo: Total OP. Way too strong and the invulnerablilty makes it ridiculous. Duration should be decreased and recharge time for the invul, should be increased

 

- Boba Fett's Siesmic Charge: Blast radius needs to be reduced (slightly), and recharge time, alot longer.

 

 

Things to get Buffed/Fixed:

 

- Imperial Weapon Boost:

The shields decrease WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too fast, and the damage that they deal in return is ridiculously NOT worth losing your shields for. They dont do enough damage to other ships, espc the corvette. I think the imp boost, should not have a timer, i noticed on priate ships that you can turn them on and off when you want them to, which will make it better to control, rather than watch your shields just fade away and get smashed by turbolaser fire. Either make the shield decrease time slower, or make the imp boost able to turn on or off whenever you want, or increase the power they deal or else its stupid and useless.

 

- Pirate Interceptors:

These guys are too weak, and get raped by corvettes/tartans, and they are supposed to be "corvette" counters. they are almost or exactly the same price as a nebulon b frigate, yet they still get raped by anyone. Maybe if nebs and vettes get nurfed, it might be more balanced for these guys, but these guys are way too weak.

 

- Tie Fighters:

I think these guys are quite useless at the start and that TieFighters should be able to get a weapon increase upgrade at teir 0, rather than teir 1, because by then they are useless. Maybe they should increase how many are also in a group.

 

- Tie Bombers:

As stated before, these guys are NOT worth the money to make. They are weaker than y-wings, and dont have any special abilities.

 

- Concussion Missiles: SHOULD NOT be able to penetrate shields. Corellian Gunships are way too strong, and are practically shielded bombers who can take down hardpoints with ease. If they dont penetrate shields, they will be fixed.

 

- Shield Boost: as delphi said before, they should be fixed. they constantly recharge even after they reach full capacitity, and continue to reacharge constantly after.

I have some thing important that you might or hope you can add in a patch, every one seems to be annoyed you can chose what ships to send into Singal player campaign battles or Galactic Conquest, i.e. the game choeses for you and you might get 3 Interdictors which you only nee 1 etc, so i thaught you guys at Petro said people could chose to what thier battle setup will be before entering into actualy combat? dosnt seem so.

 

How about adding in a window were the battle has finished loading but no ships yet, you get a window asking you what ships from your fleet  you wish to have come in first, this would also help people when playing Rebels, as its annoying having your squardons of Y and X wings come in and get pulverised by Tartens because you cant do anything about it.

 

Same thing for ground combat more or less.

 

Oh and yes, also provide imperial players the ability to start launuching thier own fighters when they want and not let them auto launch when ship comes into play, as its also annoying having corvetts already beating on your fighter/Bombers before thier even at thier destination.

 

Please add a sort of selection or prefrence entering fleet combat setup screen? Thats if it isnt to difficult to add in ;D

i was playing a 1 vs 1 custom match against some player, he was quite an average to good player, and we both were smashing each other pretty hard, he jumped in home one and another mon cal cruiser and was pounding my base

 

unfortunately, i didnt notice the 2nd moncal until i destroyed home one, as it was invisible or not visible because it was black. i could see the hardpoints if i hover over it, but i couldnt attack it, it came up with a circle/cross symbol, (like a no smoking sign) and i couldnt divert my damage unto it, or target specific spots because i couldnt attack it, he pulverised my station to half health, but i killed his forces.

 

then he jumped home one in again and destroyed it, thinking he was the best player in the world, and i just said he was a retard and he probleby thinks im a bad player or just cant hack a loss, but seriously it happened, and everything would of changed if i could of targetted the 2nd moncal's hard points.

 

someone please address this issue and save me from the embarrassment  :-[
