Rebel Assault frigate ...

Lets talk about big ships .

 

The nebulon frigate is ok , its good for beating accclamator .

The mon cal cruiser is ok , its good for everything .

 

But in the rebel forces , the Assault frigate is good for what?

It cant match victory star destroyer , and honestly after playing with it a lot , i really wonder what this ship is good for .

 

I dont want to say the game is unbalanced , because everybody say it is not , and im not sure myself .

But when your base is at number 4 , you cant do anything againts victory star cruser .

 

 

 

But anyway , my main question is :

What the Rebel Assault frigate is good for?

I just edited my post , i meant victory star destroyers , not imperal star destroyer .

Im sorry but the Assault frigate cant do anything againts the victory star destroyers .

I even wonder if 2 for 1 is enought ...

 

In the manual , they say to use the frigate for acclamator or marauder .

When the empire is at  level 4 , let me tell you the acclamator are rare .

And the marauder? This ship is easy to kill with a nebulon .

 

 

Maybe the price and the construc time is better for the frigate compare to the victory?

Assault Frigates are a bit cheaper than VSDs. In general though,they are only weaker by nature of not having fighters. Assault Frigates have significantly more firepower than Nebulon-Bs, which only have 1 Turbolaser. Assault Frigates are basically necessary against VSDs and Level 3+ Starbases until you get Mon Cals. Even then, you will be producing Mon Cals from a small number of worlds, so Assault Frigates are not completely worthless. I actually kind of like the ships, their shield boost makes them fairly difficult to kill if you time it well.

I often use theese ships to protect my corvettes with about 4 corvettes per assault frigate. They are also useful as flanking vessels to the Calamari Crusiers and as enforcer vessels to spearhead a figter attack.

Yes , its what i found out too .

 

Maybe they are not as strong as victory but they are faster . They can easely withdraw or flank .
