Little.B Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 Right now I'm having serious "troubles" with the mullitplayer mode. You know it is very hard to get a game running because if a single person is not able to configure his router properly the game cannot be set up and error messages are somthing like... not existent?. This takes about 95% of the matches I tried to play over the last days. Then, if you get a game running it runs very slow because as it seems everybody has to play on highest detail levels when their machine cannot take the load what helps to slow down the game. Next (not finished yet) the famous "Sync Error". I think this takes about 90% percent of the games which can be started. So, at the end of about 100 tries over the last days I got around two or three real games which I actually could play and enjoy. Is it just me? In fact I know that others over here (Germany) have the same "problems" and feel this way. I just wanted to know if we are the only ones or if this is a "global thingy" I'm sorry but I think there is still a lot of work to do... Short note: Enable IP-to-IP games. Pleeeeease! http://www.pexsus.com/~littleb/eaw/banner_eaw.jpgFeel the ForceIRC (QuakeNet): #empireatwar
Ghostly_Substance Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 Oh I am seriously annoyed. I was playing with Garbageben twice and it just lagged a bit and kicked him off when we were just about to kill the AI Rebels (Hard btw, in space and on land). Then I was going to host a 3 vs 3 but froze up on the forming connection (Delphi said hi before this happened, thought I mention that). I go host a 2 vs 2 and everything goes fine until 5 minutes into the game it gets LAGGY. I blame Gamespy since I was able to make it 5 minutes into the game and was able to host for 2 other people before. Need a Petroglyph made server or IP to IP ;D All my games are laggy and it aint me. Well for Homeworld 2 but not for EAW it shouldn't. One more thing whats up with the buddie chat, make it allow more words per line ;D -One Empire falls another riseshttp://myanimelist.net/signature/EuroSubstance.png http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/os/type/2/ghostlysubstance.png
Zer_Teron Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 Yeah their decision to use Gamespy is one of the worst desicions they made in development. http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/3488/zersigef1.jpg
Siddus Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Yeah, even when we know that gamespy is famous for having bugged and unfunctionnal plateforms ... It's not a little error ...It's nearly unacceptable, because after monthes "polishing" the game, having replays disabled, multiplayers with lots of errors, balancing problems .. it's not a good points, and after good previews, tests in Press are not good at all.

If someones comp is dieing cause of too high settings, that wont effect you in the slightest. It will only be on their end. If they are lagging, that might be the problem.
