NV-969 Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 Given if you were only allowed 20 Unit points in a space battle, and you had no other reinforcements. Not knowing of the force you were going to face, what would your fleet comprise of? Going from the stats that were given in the Demo. Goes for Imp and RA fleets. I suppose my standard setup would be:1 ISD2 VSD1 Interdictor3 Tartans It'd leave me with 1 unit spare, but i think that, that setup would be a decent fleet, with enough TIE's for annoying the oppositions fighters, and caps. with decent support from the Tartans from fighters, the Inter would help with the missile jamming, given if the formation was right. What's your choice of a fleet?
Megajames Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 I would chuck a Vic for an ISD but othere than that its looks good. However mine will be modded to have more than 20 pop cap, and my own specily units (Mine layer.ect) Evacuate, in our moment of triumph. I think you overestimate their chances. Nevets Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 Basic Rebel Fleet: 10 X-wings, 10 A-wings, Red Squadron and Millenium Falcon. No y-wings?
kingdark Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 hm a wings are pretty fast and therefore are in the advantage... http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/os/type/0/kingdark.png
Necro Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 the limit is 20 at a TIME, there is no limit on reinforcements or the size of your fleet - just means u can have 20 points worth in a fight!
The_talented Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 id give it a mix of 4 sqauds of A-wings and 6 sqauds of Y-wings:1 squad of one and 1 squad of three A wings to chase and take away pursuit in different directions with the one squad leading to red squadron 2 squads of 3 Y-wings to focus different hard points on the capital ships/station with millenium falcom in the lead to take all the heavy fire from tartans or the capital ships/station
kingdark Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 i disagreeGiven if you were only allowed 20 Unit points in a space battle, http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/os/type/0/kingdark.png
The_talented Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 ooh forgot the ten sqauds of x-wings.... hmmm.... 2 squads of five... on committed to strafing runs on the capital ships... the other five raping fighter opposition with a-wings and red squadron... any questions? ridicule? that strat sux? awesome im really waiting to hear cause if its bad i want to adjust it
The_talented Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 oh i wouldnt go in with pure snubfighters anyways to be truthful but i was remarking on that possibility
kingdark Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 Maybe just home one backed up with 10 squads of x and y wings? and as reinforcements a couple of frigates? http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/os/type/0/kingdark.png
The_talented Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 oh yeah yeah yeah i see what your seeing i wouldnt go into a possible space battle with little/no reinforcements

Necro Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 i disagreeGiven if you were only allowed 20 Unit points in a space battle, that's AT A TIME u have 6 isd's which count for 20 points and say 10 vsd's battle starts ur 6 isds go in..one dies, u get free slots and can call in a vsd or so.
NOT Hadoken13 Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 i didn't think the pop-cap was a hard idea to grasp..lol my EAW online screen name [PFF]HAdoken13
kingdark Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 it was late... so i wasnt that ehm... well lets just say i was too tired to notice http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/os/type/0/kingdark.png
Mistrider Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 sounds good for the imps, but don't forget that the rebs get 25 points at a time(because their fighters take pop points, they get extra) 4 ISDs4 Tartans And when he reaches Heaven,To St. Peter he will tell,"Just another soldier reporting Sir,I've served my time in Hell."
Garbageben Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 Probably 8 squads X-Wings, 8 squads Y-Wings, and 4 squads A-Wings. http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/sh/type/0/garbageben.png
Teradyn_pff Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 I think the fleet make-up choices will change when the game comes out. The devs said that they have taken care of a lot of balance issues. This was in response to the horrible aiming issue for the Imps. My Death Star is bigger than your Death Star!"The XML is strong with this one!"http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/bg/type/0/teradyn.png
