hellangel666 Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 This depends on the character available. Honestly Darth Vader would be able to clear out a single X-wing squadron long enough to get a space station built. Of course if there are Mon Cals in orbit of your planets then there is the option of the hypervelocity gun. Honestly folks this isnt so much a pain in the (censored) as people think it is. You just need to adapt to the situation at hand. Besides if MC-80s are blockading all your worlds then you quite frankly f-ing suck for letting them build up to the point of that happening. true but one thing, x wings are strong vs darth vader.... and luke against DS.....sooooo....... just hope that they don't spam your planets after you just lost a huge battle....
Zer_Teron Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Being strong vs them doesnt mean they outclass them, just that its one of their jobs to engage that type http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/3488/zersigef1.jpg
Xenomorphine Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Heh, that's odd! Was unaware that space stations were required to build space assets. At least some should have the ability to be be constructed on a world.
Relentless Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 At least some should have the ability to be be constructed on a world. Yeah, fighters, but not cap ships. It bring upon us more of famine, death and war, you know religion has a lot to answer for. -Steve Harris, Iron Maiden
Popcorn2008 Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Intereasting design flaw you discovered.... I want to see what Delphi has to say about this one. But guys, only the Empire can make the hypervelocity cannon. So.... what do the rebels do? And what do you do if your the Empire and the rebels blockaded with fighters? The hypervelocity cannon is highly inaccurate against small ships. Besides, to initiate combat you would have to send a unit to space, (which would be in a transport) so they can kill it easily. The crucial moral to this is... (unless there is a way to stop this) defend your space! Space is more crucial than you may think. I just hope this tactic doesn't become common play as then everyone would do it to force you to surrender/quit therefore ruining the fun. Delphi we need holy intervention!! ;D http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg> Petroglyph Forums Moderator> LucasForums Moderator
The_talented Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 yeah hey by the way if your at the point where you lose all of your space territory youve lost the game because your grasp of strategy is obviously crappy in comparison to you opponent...
hellangel666 Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 were just proving a point. this could also be shown in the orginial demo. lets say only 3-6 planets are in play. and your enemy takes over the space for ALL of them. now you may have land forces on all those planets (except one) so now the enemy have a huge space force, yet no land forces to even take over one planet. but you have huge land forces and are traped from building anything space related.... see the error?
The_talented Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 oh yeah i saw the error from the word "go" i was just commenting, prolly commenting while out of my place
