A question about Game localisations for EAW! Junker can you help?

Um ive been hunting around, and im after an english version of the game, now i live in Germany and from what i can see EAW will only be available in German and only German, if you want English then you need ti import, this is some one stupid, as that meansa additional cost a posible longer to wait and get it, i find it an insult to think that all Germans want to play a game in German, thats not the case as thiers many many that want to play the game in the original language or in my case thats so. English is my second language and it speak, read and hear it perfectly as any other English person, now besides this i know its not Petro's fault, but is it posible for you to influance the Publishers as to what language they can put into thier localised distrebution of the game??

 

I did wright an e-mail to Activision, to thier german speaking part and i havent goten a reply back since then, thats around 2 weeks ago, this is imo apauling.

 

Is it posible for you to do anything about this or in a future expansion pack make the deal with the Publisher to make them put the english version in, and the ability to change localised language version of the first game into english voice files and text or which ever, i just find it a real shame atm that im going to be forced to have import it, Rebellion/Supremacy was multi language instalable but EAW isnt

 

Maybe make the installation before seding the Golde version to publishers so it includes the given languages, and it allows the people more choice??

 

Any one ells have an opinion to how this sort of thing works etc?

In europe, the game will be on DVD, we don't know yet if this DVD will be multilingual. If it is, you'll be able to install the game in English from the german version. Perhaps Junker has more pieces of information about german version

Yes it is on DVD. But the game is so big, that it need a whole DVD for only one language. There is no space left for more languages on the DVD.

You can order a english EAW at amazon.co.uk. I think they will send it to Germany.

In Germany you can order it at www.okaysoft.de for example. US-Version, English, Collectors Edition.

Very much buy a US-Version of their game at this shop.

Ah thanks for the info, shame they couldnt fit more on the DVD then, i already looked at Amazon.co.uk as i always do the only thing is if i order from them it gets ssent from Island of Jerrsy or some thing like that and ends up in customs are Frankfurt i belive etc and they got to get vats are correct etc, all takes time so some times can take longer, so i might, but still thinking, but will look at the german site you gave

 

My knowladge of German import sites are very limited to around just 1 lol, also the US versionj import from that site you gave is alot of money lol, cheaper and quicker from Amazon.co.uk hehe.

Hey Junker how much experience have you got with buying from okaysoft.de ?? do they get the game early enough to send out and it be thier on the day it is released or do you have to wait longer? As im intrested in the English version, due to it being much more cheaper then the US collectors that they display, though DVD version in that case is a good thing lol, but be nice to know how puntual they are with thier imported stuff, hope you can answer that?

Until now I never bought a game at okaysoft.

I will ask some of my friends which ordered their games at okaysoft. They love the original language of a game. 

But you have to know that the German Collectors Edition has the same price as the normal version. In USA you have to pay 10 $ more for the CE. There are the same things in the box (US CE and German CE).

Thier is one diffrance between Colletors editions between the German and US apart from the main content, that fact is that the languages are diffrant, i want to play the Game in English and not German, as it sounds better, and tha fact you said that the German DVD dosnt have English on it due to not enough space, its very offputing lol, hance ive got to get the English version of the game.

 

It be diffrant if the German Version DVD had the opetion of multi lingual isntall or at least English version also on it, but it dosnt.

 

Hope you can get that info how good that import company is want to order it some time this week or today which ever.
