So We know now the Rebel game ends when the Death Star Is Destroyed.

So....Rebellion Begins after the Battle of Yavin.  Does anyone believe that SW EAW is the Prelude to SW Rebellion.  Thats Why we haven't seen Lancers, Carracks etc....In an Xpack (Empire At War: Rebellion) we may see the events of Rebellion replay.  Then in Empire At War: Rebirth of the Republic we see the Dawning of the NR up to the NJO.

no way they arent connected in the slightest. we know that EaW is going to have a Expansion delphi-PG has said as much, and there is no point in going back so it will most probably go forwards to the EU and beyond ending at the Vong Invasion of the NJO.

Its a big posibility, and wouldnt put it past the Dev's its a great concept to follow imo, also the basic structure of what ships and units to put in etc are thier, if you noticed the game music itself uses the music from Supremacy/Rebellion :D neat hehe, do find it a shame thier isnt any Diplomacy etc in the currant game but maybe in the expansion hehe, also with lots of lots of planets, i think Rebellion had around 200 or so.

I think the expansion will probably contain the Clone Wars era, simply 'cause that's hot right now and it sells.

It bring upon us more of famine, death and war,

you know religion has a lot to answer for.

the clone wars rock, i am wirting a story on a comando unit during the clone wars. But anything EPIII sells right now so.

Evacuate, in our moment of triumph. I think you overestimate their chances. :)

The clone wars would have been cool, but unfortunately Lucas thought that more time would be better spent on the drama of anakin and padme... not to mention jar-jar.  Bah!

I get tired of the prequel punks myself.  The prequels are not even in the same league with the OT.  Prettier graphics, yes, but if anyone ever played Unreal and then later played Unreal II they know that: "Prettier graphics do not a good game(or movie) make".

As for the link to Rebellion, I don't think that this is deliberately tying to the beginning of Rebellion.  Both games are based on the same story, so there will be a lot of circumstantial links there.

Wow, good thinking Fosh, sounds very logical.

This title contains the Empire. The next one will probably contain the rebellion name.

And Delphi has already hinted the expansion wont be clone wars, since it doesn't fit the EAW timeline.

Quite so!

Remember that Delphi has implied the TIE Interceptor will be eventually here, so we know what direction things would be going. :)

The main argument for going backwards in time is the apparent popularity and that a certain lava planet has been noted as "serving its purpose" in time.

The arguments against that are...

(A) The technology everyone wants to see are in the original trilogy.

(B) The game already has units which start off from having the best of Clone Wars era technology and there would be little point in revisiting that.

© The game reflects a truly good against evil philosophy and the Clone Wars already had a preconceived conclusion, which would take away the ability to win it for the side who never did. They were orchestrated all along. Even if you managed that, the game would end with Sideous having your character assassinated to ensure things turned out in a very specified way. :) No point in him letting certain factions separate, when the entire aim was to consolidate a huge Empire, all along. Where's the sandbox atmosphere?

(D) The robots weren't exactly walking Terminators, were they? Rather silly, if anything! Is the lure of commanding those really that intriguing?

(E) By the time an expansion is on the way, the prequel hysteria would have died down considerably. It was mainly fuelled by wanting to know how the story is resolved and that's now done.

(F) That lava planet hosted Vader's eventual fortress, if memory serves right.

(G) How can we really know that prequel stuff sells better than original stuff, when the company's basically made a point of selling almsot exclusively prequel-based products for a long while now? :)

A good name would be "Star Wars: Local Insurrection" or something like that

insurrection pretty much means "rebel against government"

When I hear insurrection I think Star Trek. And it wasn't exactly a local insurrection, it was a whole galaxy wide. The expansion would be way past the local rebellions in the main EAW.
