I don't want this to be an argument but, which mod do you use warlord or ROR. or do you mix them together. Edited by Cain

You guys never tried Warlord 6.0? Has Bryan'ts mod a third faction playable? If they enabled space retreat .... I'm interested to see if they mentioned ...

 

Edit: Yes he did in a way ....

 

Anyway I don't think that they can match the my working hours on the mod and they don't have a third faction in SP. I don't think that even Petroglyph has ever had a Warlord inside EAW (even for testing). Only the pirates are enabled but you can't play with them.

well, i prefer not to play a third faction, because 1. its not in the actual game. 2. I prefer to crush the rebellion with the empires iron fist.

ROR or Warlord... kind of depeneds on what you want.

 

Cain's mod is an excellent mod but its aims are different then mine.  He's adding a Third Faction, rogue Grand Admiral Zaarin whereas the ROR: A Taste of Rebellion mod is a gameplay modification.  The game feels much different when you play it then the original and V0.3 makes it feel almost like an entire new game much more akin to the Homeworld 2: Warlords modification.

I really don't know. Depends on my mood. I think they should mix their mods together because the fast lasers, the price modifications, and the third faction are just awesome.

 

I'd say they're some of the best mods out there right now, even better then Bryants mod because they offer something different, but thats just my opinion. I play the Warlord one most of the time, since its not as buggy as ROR. But I really don't prefer one over the other.

 

Btw, I tried to mix them once, and it doesn't really work out too well. I probably did it incorrectly, but it didn't work for me.

Yes, ROR is buggy, but then again its still beta, Cain's mod is much more complete at the moment.

 

Once Cain is satisified with his mod (Which may never happen) we might be able to combine resources to add a third faction to ROR.
