Stellar_Magic Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Okay I've discovered today just what the limits are for modding the Galactic map, and well... there are no limits. If you place a planet well outside the original map area (-300,-300 to 300, 300) The scrollable area will simply increase, but. If you place them out of that area the dot which represents the world will appear outside of the original 2D map on the UI bar. Has anyone found the codes for this map. I'd like to make it so all the worlds remain within the box. Foshjedi2004 Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Really shouldn't be too hard to do. As soon as "ImpEd" is finished then it should be a lot easier to do. http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa197/knivesdamaster/tags/sith_omguserbar_member.jpg
Chris C Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 EAW is so easy to mod who needs "ImpEd". Basically 95% of the things you think of is possible. All it takes is how far you want to go and your modding skill. Below is a small sample it took me about 1 minute to do all that. Image what can be done in 1 hour Double click on the images to enlarge. http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/5463/sweaw20060203223536595yv.th.jpg http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/8849/sweaw20060203223547074xh.th.jpg http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/6061/sweaw20060203223553736ir.th.jpg Chris C
Stellar_Magic Posted February 4, 2006 Author Posted February 4, 2006 You don't understand... If I increase the distance of a world beyond 300 in any direction the symbol for the map in the corner will be outside the map. It's kind of annoying to have little red, grey, and green dots floating around everywhere. Chris C Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 Stellar_Magic, I understand you perfectly as I said before, it all depend on your modding skills. Take a look at that image below. I have place Yavin4 about 400 parsecs away which normally you would get that planet outside of the GUI in the lower left corner however I have fixed that by modifying the game to accept new values. http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/8491/sweaw20060203234551265sv.th.jpg Is this the answer you wanted it’s possible to do it just a little skill and time in modding and you’ll get it to work. PS. You can see all the planets crowded because the GUI was enhanced with size to accept larger spaces between planets so now you have to input info for each planet making bigger spaces between each planet. Stellar_Magic Posted February 4, 2006 Author Posted February 4, 2006 So... what code did you change? ??? Forum and RPG Membership:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/StellarMagic01/RaporaWarsTC.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/StellarMagic01/RaporaWarsRPG2.jpg Signature:Sufficiently advanced technology would be indistinguishable from Magic. -Arthur C. Chris C Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 (edited) Ok since I really don’t have much time to write tutorials and I’m not very patient with them either, so here it is I do my best. I will point you in the right direction. In the demo find this xml “Commandbarcomponents.xml” Find this string of code: Button175 175 Change this to: Button70 70 or any lesser value remember that you may have to adjust other things as well like that white rectangular border etc. I say it again EAW is 95% or more mod-able if you can think of it you can do it. May the mod-able force be with you PS. Those of you thinking about more units in GUI bar you can try similar approach but different code string. Chris C Edited February 4, 2006 by Chris C

noian Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 Cool! That means we will be able to add planets to galactic conquest in the full game:)(the land and space battles would be coustom maps created using editor) http://www.lucasforums.com/images/avatars/tiedefender.jpgMay the force be with you, always. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/susangillan/EDF-Avatar-X-Wing.jpg http://www.userbars.com/galerie/images/files/3/4/ffuser.jpghttp://www.pixelpwnage.com/sigs/grouptag.jpg.Check for Updates!...Imperial Assault II Mod for Empire at War!!.....Empire at War Nexus, Modding for a Galaxy Far Far Away!!!.......Use the Spell Check Feature People!!!!.........International Battlefront Clan!!!!!.....
Teradyn_pff Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 One thing that can possibly be done is to replace the galactic background with a big Star background and enlarge the planets to compensate... we could have a solar system map... My Death Star is bigger than your Death Star!"The XML is strong with this one!"http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/bg/type/0/teradyn.png
