Imperial Star destroyers and other imperial ships with tie squadrons.

Does anyone think its possible in EAW to have your squadrons stay INSIDE The ship untill called for, by using a special ability? that way if your coming in range of an enemy, they may think your fighters are off looking for them, so they would be provoked to put themselves in a very bad position. (destroyers all deploy bombers at point blank so that they can get their torps off before being disintigrated by blockade runners (i hate those) ) I think if this feature was or IS in the game it would increase the strategic possibilities, and keep the rebels on their toes. (not that they arnt allready on their toes, but lets put them on the tips of their toes  ;D )

No, it was supposed to be like that in production but they changed it. They dont even deploy the amount put in their info, all i ever get out of any of them is 2 TIE Fighters and a TIE Bomber, from Accla and Vict and Imp its the exact same amount

i wish you could keep your fighters in your hanger untill you pushed a special abilities button or somthing for them to deploy  :'(

Now if they had the Venator, its carrier purpose would be forfilled with it holding many more fighters then all of the other cruisers.

The Venator may not be an official Imperial ship right now, but it is in the game. I'm sure that someone could mod it in so that it can become a full carrier once again.

When it says that an ISD can carry 10 fighter squadrens and _ number of bombers, that doesnt mean they will deploy at once.

Imagine you have 5 ISDs on screen.... that would be 50 TIEs and a bunch of bombers. That would kill the fps.

Each ISD at the start deploys 2 fighter squadrens and 1 bomber squadren. As one starfighter squadren of any type dies, a new one is disgouged from the launch bay, and that keeps happening until the numbers run out.

Same for the other TIE launching ships, just the others dont have as many TIEs.

I don't know where to begin with modding but would it be possible to modify the AT-AT's stormtrooper rappel ability to fit with star destroyers?

Me too!  I am hoping this can be modded once the full game comes out.  Alot of us like the feeling of launching our own fighters.  Even better would be the addition of 2 special ability buttons.  One for Ties and one for bombers as sometimes you need all the fighters but not the bombers. 

 

The game should also deduct a small amount of credits each time you lose a squadron in battle.  While I would love to be able to pack my own fighters, I don't think that will be possible to mod.

you have to remember the more major the mod the worse the glitches

 

as an example if we go with the isd new special ability there is nothing in the original scripting that tells the ai imperial player to launch fighters accordingly ;)
