Hey i'm just looking around with the EAW Dat Editor through (Mastertextfile [english]) and I keep on seeing WW2 stuff.

 

- TEXT_CAMPAIGN_REINFORCEMENT_TEST  -  Omaha Beach

- TEXT_GERMANY - Germany

- TEXT_Japan - Japan

- TEXT_Poland - Poland

 

Didn't see any other language such as English, Chinese, French or anything else  ???

On a different note there seem to be lots of scripcts for the campaign cutscenes and a detailed explenation of what each person will say(you can guess the whole Cp this way).

 

I have not seen to much but this ww2 stuff *interesting it is-yoda*

 

Perhaps there a is secret level where they come to our time and the rebs must help the allies. lol yeah right...

The rebelion will bring peace to the galaxy!

The devs probably wanted to test out ground combat by conquering Russia with AT-ATs. I mean, who wouldn't!

All this probably means that an early test of the game was flavored like WWII. They are developing a game engine that will probably stick around for a while, and probably was in development before they decided to make EaW.

 

Though if you are interested in random trivia, in GameConstants.xml there is a MOTD [message of the day] link to www.gmclemon.com/temp/MOTD_ENG.txt  Apparently Steve Hall. apparently one of the devs, had a dead gmc, decided to make a web site about it, and then offered to temperally host EaW's MOTD.

 

There are a lot of references to planets being 'aligned' with a side of the force.  I wonder if/what part it will play in the final game.
