Emperor_Cheeseman Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 why in all the new lucasarts games are the rebels given things that the clones and CIS used? are they just so unadvanced that they resort to using vehicles with wheels? User banned. -PFF Admin
The Saint Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 why in all the new lucasarts games are the rebels given things that the clones and CIS used? are they just so unadvanced that they resort to using vehicles with wheels? Because the rebel military used second hand weaponry in its early stages. Of course this sounds like just another complaint of yours without any real way to remedy it, or offer another suggestion..
Megajames Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 IS THE TURBO TANK IN THEN!!! ??? Evacuate, in our moment of triumph. I think you overestimate their chances. In SWGB the rebels used a Turbo Tank/Jugganaught like machine. http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/4305/cap2073na.pngTime to do some damage.
Garbageben Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 Because the rebel military used second hand weaponry in its early stages. That's true. Let me put this in perspective. You're a rebel insurgency on the run almost constantly from Imperial forces. There are almost no manufacturing firms in the galaxy willing to help you and risk the wrath of the Emperor. So basically you have to steal what you can and use it. Hence they stole the old equipment from clone wars era to use. Also you have to keep in mind that the rebels did not have near the amount of money to finance building their own customized tanks and whatnot. http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/sh/type/0/garbageben.png

Also, take into account how much it would've cost the rebs if they just had to disign new fighters/units. Imagine what it woud've cost if it included mass production. The Saint Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 IS THE TURBO TANK IN THEN!!! ??? Not that I've seen. The original poster is just making complaints for little reason.

So, could anyone tell me what this thread is about? http://www.pexsus.com/~littleb/eaw/banner_eaw.jpgFeel the ForceIRC (QuakeNet): #empireatwar
Mistrider Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 I believe they are refering to the MPTL artillery tank that the rebels have. And when he reaches Heaven,To St. Peter he will tell,"Just another soldier reporting Sir,I've served my time in Hell."
Guest Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 it really bothers me when I see the rebels with Imperial stuff like the venator and the LAAT. Of course you said that they could scrounge it up from somewhere but being able to produce and commonly use it is the retarted thing. If the Rebels had one or two venators (that's all they're likely to get) that'd be okay. But a whole freakin fleet of them? Bleah!
The Saint Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 http://www.starwars.com/databank/vehicle/turbotank/img/movie_bg.jpgThis is a Turbo Tank. http://outpost.cnc-hq.de/TRIALS/DonBilbo/EaWHQContent/Rebellen/GroundUnits/T4B_3_sml.jpgThis is the rebel T4B tank. So, could anyone tell me what this thread is about? This thread is about Superman wondering why the rebels would use what he mistook to be the Juggernaut, of which the MPLT is not. Of course its just another one line complaint, so it doesnt have much depth. As for the Rebels and what they have, how do you think they got Neb-Bs? Most of them defected to the Rebel cause. Hence it is likely that they can have a fleet of Venators as it is more than likely the crews of those ships wouldnt exactly be pro-Imperial and would be startled at the prospect of the Empire. Then you got the fact that it is possible that the rebellion could have stolen some of these ships out of mothballs.
Little.B Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 Ah, the MPTL. Now I see.. http://www.pexsus.com/~littleb/eaw/banner_eaw.jpgFeel the ForceIRC (QuakeNet): #empireatwar
All_Terrain Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 why in all the new lucasarts games are the rebels given things that the clones and CIS used? are they just so unadvanced that they resort to using vehicles with wheels? Those "unadvanced" vehicles are among the most powerful AFVs of the SW galaxy: http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a242/CptK/JuggernautsATAT.jpg And they don't suffer from "leg caught in cable"-syndrom, either. According to their history, immense distribution to remote forces during the CW, led to some Juggernaut-transports being lost or highjacked by the Separatists. Some of these could in turn have been picked up by the Rebels, years later, or be taken from Outer Rim Imperial garrisons.
Grand Admiral Thrawn 889 Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 lol well the juggernaunt wasn't a regular in the Rebel fleet. but was used by the Empire commonly through out the galaxy. and everyone knows that the Rebels stole old material from whereever. http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n292/Admiral_Antilles/Thrawncopy.jpghttp://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg I Support the Resistance!
All_Terrain Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Yep. I was just posting to dispute the claim that the Juggernauts are "unadvanced" because they have wheels instead of legs. Wheels have their own problems, sure, but they're different from the problems with walkers (like tripping or loosing balance).
Guest JediIgor Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Juggernauts aren't as fearsome. The Imperial regime stressed fear and order over effectiveness. But the AT-AT definitely isn't "inferior" to the Juggernaut, it has a bigger quantitative armament.
