Nobody talking in the game section anymore? Me and Garbageben not keeping it alive?  ???

Anyways now that I can run Silent Hunter 3 properly again but not perfectly I want to know if anybody else is up in joining me online? Yes I spammed the forums during the summer but you guys must believe me its the best Sim game out there. You wont believe it until you try it. Join me online and you will have fun. I am 100% positive  ;D I bet Steller_Magic would try this since hes a realism type person  8)

Here I will even host a video to show you how great it is (note this video is just a slice of the pizza).

If you dont like it since its not your kind of came I will accept it but dont judge the game that badly since its one of the best and not made by EA games.  ;D

I actually think I'm going to wait for Silent Hunter 4 that's slated for release late this year.  I haven't been on the forums much as I have been working hard on a project and overall have been swamped in college work.  I hope it relents for next month at least so I can play a little EaW now and then. ;D

Well theres no new news about Silent Hunter 4 but it might bust my computer  :-\ Any new news about Silent Hunter 4? I'm still slightly tracking it.

Silent Hunter 4 is in the Pacific ?!?!?! PACIFIC ?! Thats the theater I hate the most. European Theater has more of the cool stuff. Yes I agree that the Japs made very cool submarines but still. Lack of variety unless somehow Canadians are there again or some other stuff. Hope i'm wrong and it will be both Euro and Pacific theater  ;D

Nice Cain  ;D Silent Hunter 4 will take a while to get out but Silent Hunter 3 is worth it. There is also a Silent Hunter 3 Ex-pack thought of being made. They asked what people would want in the ex-pack. Since theres 4 pages worth on their forums and I bet what I asked is on there.

- Milk Cow subs

- Walking around the ship freely without jumping around

- Able to win the World War for Germans

- To use Allied subs and campaign

- Able to travel to the Japanese side of the map (WW1 Germans made it to Hawaii and had a fun time partying with the Americans until the Americans declared war on them).

- Able to use MP3s and not .oog files.

Even without this its still a great game to play  ;D Get farther into the war and you'll have more to think about  :P

SH3, isnt that the game you can use with Destroyer Command so that you can actually have a multiplayer game where someone controls the DD, against the U-boat? How would multiplayer work anyway? Each person controlling an option of the submarine? Do we each control our own? I get paid Friday so I'm definately interested. I've been on a game buying spree(picked up X3 last week). I had considered Imperial Glory but I'm iffy on it.

Well its a Submarine game (of course  :P) and well each player gets their own U-Boat and well for multiplayer its Submarines vs boats so you kill the convoys ONLY marked Red to gain renown. You choose any scenerio and when its done you can still go hunting (as long as you have weapons). Never tried it but its what I heard around Silent Hunter 3 forums but you can only play with Submarines  ;D Dont worry you'll get hooked like I did  8)

Hey Saint if you came back im searching for the Destroyer mode your talking about, I just read it in the communities wishlist so im seeing if your right.  ;D

edit: Ok yes this is the game just how do you get this  :o Its in Silent Hunter 2 but donno about Silent Hunter 3.

The vs mode is silent hunter 2 and destroyer command only.

If you are looking for a multiplatform game that is naval, look at Dangerous Waters.  It is a modern sim though, not WWII.  You can pilot a plane, command a surface frigate, or command a few different submarines.  The cool thing is that you can do it multiplayer and different people can multi-crew the same vessel.  You and a friend can both work together to command a Los Angeles class submarine (think the Dallas on Hunt for Red October) for example.

My Death Star is bigger than your Death Star!

(Limiting my time on the forums for once or tryin to, i'm addicted to this forum like a smoker with smokes.)

Only for Silent Hunter 2? Well even so that doesn't mean that Silent Hunter 3 and maybe 4 would suck. Maybe 4 would suck but Silent Hunter 3 is a masterpiece. Well i'm now i'm going to try to do a patrol each day (Make it past patrol 20). That means I gotta do 5 patrols  ;D Well i'll see if I can get more and more tonnage per patrol and mark it here on the forums in that new section I made. Well now whos gonna get it first? Garbageben or The Saint?  ;D

I was actually about to make a post.  I have always loved submarines and have never played a sub-sim game.  I was actually making a little flash one, not much but the same concept (you control the sub through its bearing, speed, depth, etc. You dont actually move it with the mouse or keyboard arrows, etc.)  Anyway...  Ill keep my eye on this thread.  I would love some suggestions :D

It shall be me first I suspect. I picked up the game today for about 17 bucks at my Best Buy..gotta love the employee discount. Anyway, from flipping through the manual I've got abit to learn. So this should be rather fun. I am a big fan of the WWII era, not so much the modern area..technology has removed a lot of the stress from modern sub combat. Depth charge and hedgehog evasion is far more entertaining.

Got my VIIB now but I didn't go look inside it. This is the best Sub Sim game I got and if you think its bad try some of the mods  ;D My crew got tired too fast so I got someones mod to make the crew more real. Ran into my first storm today (Patrol 6 above Normandy) and well only try attacking things in that weather if your a ace  ;) I got more torps now so more killing boats and more tonnage so expect my personal score to get bumped up every once in awhile ;D

@ Vader89: Sweet, making a sub game once? Done or ?

@ The Saint: Cool now go to "Naval Academy" and try your hands out there. I haven't been there for ages so I think once your done your "objectives" Just exit and onto the next. Oh and I always use my keyboard chart here but I know half the keys now ;D When you attack a ship make sure your 2000 feet away (to be safe) and if your using parascope get the ship in your view and press "L" to lock the torps in. (if your looking right at the enemy ship in Para' and ship moving left) Then get the ship within a 25 view and then fire. If its a bigger ship then a normal cargo boat then fire a second torp 5 seconds later. My main annoyance is with the torps detonating prematurly or missing. Even though this is a WW2 game it still has its fun in it. Think its easy now then wait later in the war  :P After every patrol reward one of your crew members. Enjoy  ;D

This is a rather fun game, now I know why you keep hyping it so much. Doing a weapons solution on the map and then watching as the torpedo zooms in, counting down on the chronometer outloud..sooner or later when I've got the game down I'll put everything in German just to be authentic. Of course while this is rather fun I wish they would do more WWII sub games for the other theaters. In the Pacific US and Japanese submarines fought every bit as hard as the German uboats. Japanese torpedos were just as exotic(Kaiten human torpedos come to mind) and US submarines choked the living shit out of countless Japanese islands starving them of supplies.

Yup exactly. Its also fun making shipwrecks and artifical reefs of the cost  ;D Hey "The Saint" theres a Pacific theater comin out later in time and its Silent Hunter 4 IN THE PACIFIC  ;D Japanese Aircraft carrier sub which the Americans destroyed. Hopefully Ubisoft makes a counter to see how you changed the war.

Want to know the sad truth about SH3? Even for all your hard work you cant win the war. Hope the Ex-pack changes that with a counter  ;D By the way who cares I love sinking ships with my VIIB  8)

Well true, but looking at the staggering losses, one U-boat wouldnt have changed the war, it would have taken a complete slew of factors. Of which we have no control over(damn inevitable Russian winters).

Of course I'm in the middle of the torpedo training, just sunk my third ship. Caught the small tanker right on the bow..the damage modeling is outstanding. The tanker sunk bow first dragging the aft into the air, and then went down bow first with the aft bobbing in the water for several seconds before sinking entirely.

Oh it is a messy software but I haven't noticed it since I closed the window. I cant find a small desktop or anything so its easy to ignore (or for me anyways). Find a way to get rid of it if possible since its easy. The Saint dont use it if you dont know  ;D Silent Hunter yes but not that crappy software.

What the hell is Starforce? The only program I'm using with SH3 is SH3 Commander which gives you a nice little break down on your commander adding depth to the person you play. Rather cool as it updates with your kills.
