Little.B Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 As I noticed screenshots in the demo are done in the .tga format. To state out I hate this. Why? Very simple: TGA is a you cannot open with most free tools like GIMP. Not even Windows itself can open it. Why not using BMP or another standard format? The only "free" program I know that can open TGA is Irfanview. So my question is: Why TGA? Is there anything special about TGA I am not aware of? http://www.pexsus.com/~littleb/eaw/banner_eaw.jpgFeel the ForceIRC (QuakeNet): #empireatwar
Teradyn_pff Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 .TGA is used in PhotoShop I think, which is probably what they use mainly. My Death Star is bigger than your Death Star!"The XML is strong with this one!"http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/bg/type/0/teradyn.png
Haradim Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 I'm not certain (and can't test it right now), but I think Quicktime's PictureViewer also supports .tga's. I don't encounter that format very much, though. It's generally intended for higher-end graphical content. It may have been picked because those files are easy to write, and support high color depths, compression, and transparency.
Deadeye31_pff Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Quicktime picture viewer is how you look at the pictures. On my comp quicktime was under program files so just click that as the open with... selection.
