lucienskywalker Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 not sure if this work , for modders around here like akula . www.ethersoft.net/EmpireAtWar/Kaelic's% ... ractor.zip "I spent hours after getting the demo figuring out the MEG structure and then writing this extractor in C++ just to find someone beat me to it! Well I don't care, I'm releasing my hard work anyway Perhaps someone will prefer mine, I don't know. www.ethersoft.net/EmpireAtWar/Kaelic's% ... ractor.zip Simply put it in the Empire At War GameData\Data directory, drag a MEG file onto the program and watch it work amazing wonders of gloriusly sloppy code, well atleast you don't have to see that part."Akaramu
lucienskywalker Posted January 20, 2006 Author Posted January 20, 2006 *.meg unpacker (w/ source code) http://dedibox.geezas.com/~pies/EAWUnpack.rar "something ive hacked together while exploring the .meg format please post any feedback here its probably not very reliable but ive managed to extract all the files from the demo with it successfully and sorry the source codes a mess but as i say it was hacked together while i was trying to work out the file format."eaterofpies
Teradyn_pff Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 the second link is dead and the first download gives an error when the .meg file is dragged onto the .exe My Death Star is bigger than your Death Star!"The XML is strong with this one!"http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/bg/type/0/teradyn.png
Telstarin Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Did you drag it onto the .exe file or actually into the opened program? The way you said it makes it sound like you dragged the .meg on top of the icon for the .exe file, which obviously wouldn't do anything.
chr0n1x Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Forwww.ethersoft.net/EmpireAtWar/Kaelic's% ... ractor.zip You can drag n' drop the .meg file onto the icon, since its a console application, it will automatically extract the files to the directory the extractor is in, make sure its extracted 1st. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y38/Chr0n1x/sig.gif
lucienskywalker Posted January 20, 2006 Author Posted January 20, 2006 http://www.empire-at-war.com/file.cgi?/files/utils/EAWExtractor.zip an other one i guess .

Oh really? Never heard of programs that operate such as that before. Well then, colour me the fool.
Teradyn_pff Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Ok, the issue that I found is that it will work if you have the .Net 2.0 fix installed. I had the 1.1 My Death Star is bigger than your Death Star!"The XML is strong with this one!"http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/bg/type/0/teradyn.png
Dante_pff Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 you should update that one, and let the website know there was an update to 1.0.0.1 http://www.renevo.com/downloads/eaw/EAWExtractor.zip Fixes some crash issues most users will not encounter, but fixes a major issue with invalid file naming.
