Freeshot Posted January 19, 2006 Share Posted January 19, 2006 I downloaded the file from filecloud and then download.com, and neither worked. What would happen is, id get the demo installer, and would unzip it, then it would proceed to install the game. However, as install shield would load, an error would pop up, but if i kept trying, it would finally install the game. Once it was installed, i would go to the directory that i installed it to and try to open it - however, instead of the shortcut to game showing the icon of the death star, it would just be the blank white window icon, and when i clicked it it would browse for launchEAW.exe. Surprisingly, after the 5th or 6th time of uninstalling and reinstalling the demo, the death star icon would appear, and when i clicked on it, it would appear as though the game was starting. Alas, it didnt start, nothing happened. So i tried again, and kept getting the "browsing for LaunchEAW.exe" notice. I got it from a few sites, and it hasnt worked with any of the copies ive downloaded, and they are all over 740 mb files, over 1.2gb after installation. So has anyone else had this problem? Also, it didnt install directx via the game install like it said it would, so i manually updated directx, which did nothing. I suppose the problem is the missing LaunchEAW.exe file, but why, and how do i fix the problem? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Installation problems have been discussed alot.
