Evacuate, in our moment of triumph. I think you overestimate their chances. :)

Turn based unless they slow the speed of everything down.

Right now you can build an entire fleet, and move it to attack in a single day.

There is no strategy in that at all.

It should take days and days to build stuff, so you have to think ahead, guess what your opponent is going to do, and try to counter it.

Is he going to build a bomber fleet to take out your capitals? Then rush to buidl anti-fighter ships.

But the way it is now.. its more of.. ok hes gonna attack. then hes gonna attack again in a day if he loses, then hes gonna attack again, at full strength each time.

Kinda lame in my opinion.

they might speeded it up for the demo, because of the restricted AI

They didn't speed up building for the demo.

It will still take like 10 seconds to build any unit.

Imagine how fast a death star will be built at that speed.

There is just NO strategy when you can build that fast.  Rebellion hit the building on the mark. You want the big ships, you sacrifice your building resources on that planet to build it.

But in order for this to work, they need to make it so you can build 5 things on each planet at once. Not just 5 things universally.

first everything we build in the "DEMO" is low end units, i highly doubt the deathstar builds in 10seconds or even ISD and MC's

And even if they do, GOOD i use SPAQ for RTR because it allows massive build up of troops and yet the game still has plenty of strategy, like where to send troops what ones etc.. the people who need slower build times and TBS are the ones who cant think on there feet and react fast enough, they need a pause in the game to think cause they are slow thinkers IMO :)

From LucasForums: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?p=1994907#post1994907

I should point out a few things, since it seems they are coming up a lot:

1) The Demo is actually from early last month's build, so a lot has been fixed/added/balanced since that time.

2) The build times and galactic fleet movement speeds have been radically sped up for the demo and do not reflect the actual build/travel times in the final game.

3) I thought that camera controls were covered in the tutorial, so it is possible that that particular tutorial didn't get into the demo (I didn't work on the demo or the tutorial, so I can't say for sure).

4) The galactic AI has been almost entirely turned off for the demo - it will be much more agressive in the final game.

Again, thanks for all the comments - all of us here are following it closely

Ok, I'm glad to hear that the galactic mode does not reflect the one in the real game. There's still one thing that bothers me though.

When you play as the rebellion in the beginning, you get to send a smuggler to Nal Hutta to divert credits, and there's an icon showing that. When you play as the Imperials later, there's STILL that icon showing the smuggler's presence.

I thought it was really lame that a planet would have the icon signifying to the enemy that a smuggler is diverting credits. If there's a icon showing it, then any half-brained moron would know to send a bounty hunter after him. Isn't the whole point of having a smuggler to divert credits DISCREETLY?

It would have been better if there hadn't been an icon, and the only way you would know a smuggler's stealing funds was if you realize that you're not getting as much money from the planet as you should. Therefore, only the sharp players would notice it and would be able to stop the smuggler.
