Delphi-PG Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 (edited) We here at Petroglyph are very interested in hearing your feedback and suggestions after playing the demo/game. Remember that the demo is only a very small slice of Empire at War - there is much more in the final product that we didn't have room to show you in downloadable format. We will be watching all of the fan sites closely, and welcome you all to speak your mind (as long as you can keep it polite and constructive of course). Lastly, lets get another round of questions setup for the end of the week. We hope you have loads of fun! Edit by Cain:Before posting pls. see this: http://pff.swrebellion.com/index.php?topic=1785.0 Edited April 4, 2006 by Cain Delphi-PGGame Designer/Community Rephttp://www.petroglyphgames.com
Teradyn_pff Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Delphi, are we doing 5 questions again, or will you entertain more this time? My Death Star is bigger than your Death Star!"The XML is strong with this one!"http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/bg/type/0/teradyn.png
Delphi-PG Posted January 18, 2006 Author Posted January 18, 2006 I'll try too do both. Delphi-PGGame Designer/Community Rephttp://www.petroglyphgames.com
Darth Tyrant Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 At what time we are going to be able to download the demo?
Teradyn_pff Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Don't bug Delphi about the Demo download. He probably doesn't have anything to do with the server setup and distribution at this point. It has been stated that it should be available around 11AM Central tomorrow, but there is no way that they can guarantee a time. Just watch the official site tomorrow starting 11 Central. Or you can watch here, because I am sure someone will post as soon as it is found. Guest Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 The suspense, the pain of it all!!! I 'm like a hungy dog, I want it now! You know what, I've never been this excited about a C&C. Maybe it's because we're getting a small taster of a game made by legendary developers that gives this demo game massive appeal
The Saint Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 I got one complaint about the demo..it isnt available yet
Guest Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 OK, anyway, lets keep this thread clean for feedback only eh guys? We don't want to have to make Delphi's job harder by making him sift through all the pointless rubbish
Popcorn2008 Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 -READ THIS- Okay to prep everyone for the demo in 12 hours, if you want to post feedback, please post it in this forum: http://pff.swrebellion.com/viewforum.php?f=3 This is where all demo related feedback should go, and please put it in the respectable thread. Have fun And post away, in 12 hours that is. http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg> Petroglyph Forums Moderator> LucasForums Moderator
Nick2730 Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Hey Delphi, If i send you a PM do you read or recieve them? If not where could I email it too, it is regaurding Game Design. I am a student and was hoping for some input from you. Thanks
Cain Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Hi Delphi - nice move Btw - Usually Delphi is not allowed to read new design ideeas in PMs or emails. PLs. read the comments next to the title of the feedback forum. He can only read feedback. This is what Ismael said. Yes guys for bugs and feedback use the feedback forum. It has been used before and all that feedback has been emailed to the devs in the past - but they usually see it here anyway. I will try to make a feedback (no bugs) topic there too - but I assume it will spread all over the forums. Also when you are posting feedback - make it as real and clear as possible so it will stick into the devs mind - The Trivium Organization - Community Manager -- Petroglyph Fan Forums - CoAdmin & Human Resources Manager -

Nick2730 Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 sorry for not being clear, i ment game design as a field. I am studying game art/ design at the art institute of schaumburg and i wanted to ask delphi some questions about it like if he likes his job, where did he go, how did he break into the industry things like that
WhiteSkull Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 WOW this game is gona rock so much lol. Ok after beating the demo i can say this is a hit, but. problem one travel between planets is way tof ast, its a matter of seconds rather then taking days(gametime) like it should. Units in ground battles die a little to fast IMO Heros are really powerfull, but they can die pretty fast if your not watching (thats a good thing) I am disapointed they disabled the AI so they just sit and wait Game on fulll settings run soooo smooth as well.
Xyvik Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Was going to post this on the LucasForums but they are, unfortunately, not available at the moment. Which means this is the place I will post it. Demo First Impressions This covers the installation, menu, graphics, sound, and tutorials of the Empire at War demo. Please feel free to leave your comments on our forums or here. I'll be busting the game apart to see what I can get ruining later -Xyvik http://www.xyvik.com/arcaniartslogo.JPGArcani Arts: 3D Computer Art on various Gifts and Products!http://members.cox.net/d.a.xyvik/sithwarbase9.jpg What Would Fett Do?
Wiking_pff Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 is the normal mission playable as Rebel only, or also Imperial?
Nick2730 Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 The demo was ok, nothing to write home about. I am dissapointed as to how short it is with no ai interaction like someone earlier said. I was hoping this demo would put us off till the game comes out but its so simple i took like an hour on hard. I hope the AI in the game is significantly more challenging. The Blue lines around the map bugged the hell out of me so i rotated my map to get rid of it. The heat distortion made everything so blurry that i had a hard time distinquising lines so i turned it off. Not what i was hoping for but shows what the engine is capable of
Nick2730 Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 is the normal mission playable as Rebel only, or also Imperial? Only Rebels
Xyvik Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 I saw both Imperial and Rebel missions when I looked. I only played the first tutorial so I can't say for certain. I'll get more in-depth later. http://www.xyvik.com/arcaniartslogo.JPGArcani Arts: 3D Computer Art on various Gifts and Products!http://members.cox.net/d.a.xyvik/sithwarbase9.jpg What Would Fett Do?
WhiteSkull Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 It means the AI just sits on the galatic map it wont push your planet or build new fleets etc.. basicly you get 1 space battle and 1 land battle.
Teradyn_pff Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Well, I guess they had to let us play the galactic mode without giving us enough to keep us from buying the regular game. I dunno. I know this isn't enough to hold me till feb 16th. More waiting and knashing of teeth. I'll get more in-depth later. yea tutorial wise you get both, but you only do what they say. Otherwise in the galactic conquest you only get rebels, its set up for only 1 space battle and 1 land
Nick2730 Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 I like the smuggling and spying aspect, and the map is set up very nice. I can see the game has alot more depth then the demo is offering. Cant wait, i also love the hard point damage, when something blows up it literally breaks off. Plus the cinimatic mode is cool
