You'd fail, but you can try. In other words, BRING IT ON SCUM!! :twisted:  I think all pop. cap ships size 2 and up should be nameable. I won't really bother with naming my fighter groups though, seeing as there will be SO MANY OF THEM!! And besides, who would want to bother with ground unit naming anyway unless it is Veer's AT-AT, which I doubt has a name at all. However since units do not gain experience I will feel no real attachment to any of my units because they will just be regular and not performing better than those of the same class. The moment you name them they become more than just a regular unnamed vessel.  The fact that they won't be acknowledged in game as veterans doesn't take the fun away from it, it just means that because they're on equal footing with every other ship of its class the decisions you make to engage or not engage it are all the more important. Strong leaders will engage it despite the chances of loss. Cautious ones might keep it as a saving grace when under attack. These would all just be normal, expendable ships without a personally named fleet. It makes every potential battle unique to the player. I won't say I don't miss experience, but to begin to find this feature we asked for so long ago as a mundane element without any experience implemented is a bit short sighted. Come on guys, it's better to have it than not. Much better. Then I get a commander transport ready (AT-AT, 4 AT-STs, 3 Tie Defenders) and then carry Vader to the Fortress which is heavily guarded.
