PFF Second Activation

I believe I have saved most things from this forum to http://pff.swrebellion.com/index.php . As the poll indicates, we are not yet sure what the *final url* will be, however the same *forum* as is there now is what we will have. I can crawl the forum again one last time tomorrow.

 

For now, will everyone please go to that site (you won't be able to login, so don't bother, and DON'T REGISTER AGAIN), and poke around as much as you can.. if you see any "bugs" or issues, please report them here or to me directly.

 

For any admins, you should PM me with a password that you want to use, I will manually reset your password and then I want you to login the admin panel and make sure the settings there are identical to the ones here (groups, permissions, ranks, etc).

 

Once that is done and the poll is over, I will bulk mail everyone (in the forum) a new randomly generated password (there is *no way* for me to somehow get your existing password unless I had access to the forumer db) at which point this forum should be closed and redirected to the new one.

I explicitly set the cookie domain to "pff.swrebellion.com" (was blank earlier.. auto-detect I guess?). Try some more and see what happens.

The Maw Installation and the The Hidden MP Door are swapped. Under Games & Mods section Mods, Design and Concept Art is at the bottom of those three rather than at the top. Also, EAW General Discussion is under EAW Previews and Screenshots.

 

I think once those are fixed, the structure of the index should match.

Cain, Ghostly, I think you guys can take care of simple "position" displacement? I will be out for most of the day, and since you guys both have access to the admin panel now, feel free to do any fixes among confirming other admin settings match to this one.

 

If there are more serious errors that can't be fixed through a quick surf to the admin panel, then I will definitely give it more priority and have it fixed asap . So keep looking guys.

 

(just so it doesn't seem like I say this and don't do anything, well err besides writing the script , I *did* run into 2 db sync problems earlier and had them both fixed).

Well, with only one forum remaining, all people will read the news about new location. More simple, easier to make More doing this will remove confusion between forums. Some users could wonder "where am I" "am I on the right ?"

They will find us since we will fill this forums with links to the new location - so 15 will do as long as JI will approve the move and direct the steps. I need him to confirm that he is ready for tomorow with the emailing. After he emails we make the news all over the internet.

 

As for Ismael - he knew this from long ago. I do remember that we have searched from long ago for a new place.

 

Anyway Ismael has changed city so probably he has no PC since he left his old one to his friend. He should be back this motnh or the next.

15th sounds good. Should I sync the forums again before then, or just leave them where they are now? It will only sync the new posts and new users, so maybe there won't be any problems...

I'm not giveing tasks to anyone since I always admired the initiative.

 

 

We have 3 goals:

 

 

Safe passage to tyhe new location.

 

Spreading the news.

 

Emailing all the other sites to make a news about us etc. Siddus pls. take care of the PR aspects in relations with the site admins and Fosh will go in their forums and inform maybe quote JI's email. GS pls. help JI with anything he needs. I will also try to be online early on the day and later.
