Capital ship torpedos?

We all know that Capital ships (or at least all the Imperial cap ships) have these huge torpedo launchers that fire huge torpedos. I haven't heard the smallest bit of info about this subject. Even the Acclamator has torpedos and you don't have to know anything about to know that. In SWRC you enter the Prosecuter through one these huge torpedo lauchers.

I guess that the broadside will have torpedos or whatever it is that it has. but I don't think all the ships will be able to launch torpedos... cause that removes the need of ywings for the alliance(since imps get it free, they can't change it I think) thus they can build just awings and make those TIEs blow up all the time.

The Broadside and Gunship have torpedos. Other units don't. Of course this is not very close to the SW fluff but torpedos are very, very powerfull in EaW (from what I saw at the Games Convention). So this weapons are restricted to smaller, fragile units which have to be handled with care. I like the idea behind this.

In WWII, torpedoes were delivered by plane, sub, pt boats (plywood death traps) and destroyers. The size of the ship is not the restriction on the use of torpedoes. We just never saw conventional torpedo type weapons or missles in any of the OT.

I think most of the design decisions on this game have more to do with RTS balance than adhering to SW. I would like sticking to both, but what can you do. I don't have the budget or the team to build something better (right now anyway), so I guess we will go with what we got.

Did I say that? I don't think so.

Right. I prefer a RTS game which is well balanced but perhaps has to face some "setbacks" refering to the SW fluff. You know, I want to play this game in multiplayer. I want to play it in leagues and want to compete with others. If Petro leaves out units or has to invent some to give it a good balance I am pleased with this decission. Maybe others don't but I accept this. In return they should accept Petros decission.

Ummmm let's seee.......... maybe the fact that it has Star Wars ships in it? Only the Broadside being made up and the misrepresentation of the Marauder Corvette are what really goes against the Star Wars license. Saying that this game is just using the SW license to artificially drive up sales is way out of line. Little.B has played bits of the game and I'm sure he'd agree that it feels like Star Wars. Just because one ship isn't in doesn't mean it's not Star Wars.

Don't go mistaking me for some whiny 6 year-old crying about their "cool" ship from the horrid pile of bantha crap that was Episodes I - III.

I am talking about the fact that if this wasn't star wars, it would most likely end up in the bargan bin faster than the Millineum Falcon made the Kessel run.

Designing this game taking the SW license cushion into account is an afront to the Star Wars fans and RTS fans alike.

It is too bad that even with all of this crap that is going on, EAW will probably be the best SW RTS to date by a large margin. Just goes to show you what type of competition it has in that realm.

yes But not everyone who has been let down about the game. its the constant changing of the Release Date and other disappointments linked to removal of things and the none includance of other ships like the Dreadnought and others that should have been in. (NOT THE B-WING OR THE TIE INTERCEPTOR OR THE SSD! as these do not fit into the timeframe given they never have.)
