Delphi-PG that just sounds like an Excuse

lol, so your saying an entire galaxy wouldnt advance in technology over 30 years? It is a perfectly acceptable reason to me.

What's the big deal with them adding something new anyway? As long as it is fun, and not too far fetched its fine for me. We should be thankful Delphi doesnt just decide to stop posting with all the people who manage to complain with every new bit of information released.

Wasnt that some kind of modification that Anikan Skywalker suggested for some of the fleet he was stationed in during the Clone Wars? They put a artilery gun at the hanger bays.

Episode II starts less than 25 years before the Battle of Yavin and this technology was probably in late protype stages during Episode III epsecially since we only saw one ship actually use it. It would make more sense if this were a new secret weapon of some sort, wouldn't it?

just an FYI the Beam fired from the venator wasnt standard issue in All venators. It was in fact a Heavy turbolaser ripped off of the Clone artillery walker.

Same can be Said for Pietts flagship. Its a special Addon that not everyone has.

I hope you're right.

As for proving it's an mkII:

Take a look at the tower section of an mkI and an mkII ISD.

mkI

mkII

Notice anything different? It's one of the most recognisable features, and easiest to spot.

What else you say?

Well, although we don't have too good closeups of the main heavy guns, you can see that they are of the 4x2 gunbarrel design per batteri, 4 batteries on either side of the superstructure, totalling to 64 guns (32 per side).

Striking resemblance to the real thing, ain't it?

On the mkI there are just 6 dual barreled Heavy Turbolaser turrets (12 guns in total), 3 on either side of the superstructure, plus 1 Heavy Ion Cannon (also dual barreled, so 4 guns in total). You'll notice that the Ion Cannon is easily destinguished from the turbolasers.

There is also the baffles on the main drive engines, but we can't see them in any pictures yet so :P

The one thing that baffles me is, that they seem to have labelled the Heavy Turbolaser turrets as Ion Cannons, when the mkII replaced it's 2 rear Heavy Ion Cannons with Heavy Turbolaser Turrets instead. In other words, the mkII doesn't have heavy ion cannons there anymore.

well if we use your pictures as models for what i have seen in any sw game that i have played,or movie (they are prolly in here but i didn't see them) for that matter then----

i have never seen an isd mk 1 since all of the command towers i have ever seen fit the model used for the isd2 pic u provided....

now i am sad

hmmm methinks we are gettin a bit over excited here, even if the accuser is an ISD 2, its a hero ship therefore its unique so lets not say the games uses post rotj tech.

Anyway ISD2 that special, sure its got firepower to take out frigates and light caps in one salvo but it has got weaker shields than an ISD 1.

this is true but i am still confused....why have i never EVER seen the isd1 command tower??

having looked at thoose pics again in x-wing alliance it seems the only star destroyers i been crashing my s**t awing into has been ISD2  and XWA had a lot of stardestroyers and I made it my mission to crash into evry1 of them!! :P

The beam in question was also a single blue beam, not a bunch of beams that almost seem to be behaving like an electric arc.

Loll - I will say that it is a phaser from Star Trek. You can clearly see that it fires from a strange place on the ship in the classic ST style.

Next thing we will get photon torpedos on the Calamari cruisers. Why if they are not SW canon - they are cool and the weapons could have evolved that way ;)

So don't complain guys ! You are getting two games in one ! Star Trek and SW.

Loll - just jokeing :lol::lol::lol:

I do like the new beam weapon since I hate the SW canon usually. But anyway the Ep. III beam fire was kind of far fetched since if every Venator had this technology to fire just once imagine how many CIS ships could they had destroyed. The CIS will have never had a chance. Nor the Rebels in the future.

Still I also hope the tractor beam and the capture ship options will also be implemented.

We have seen a Venator vs. Venator picture

http://www.sw-eaw.de/galerie/org/404.jpg

and somewhere I think I've seen listed the tractor beam option.

Capitain Piett

- His tractor beam slow down enemy ships

- His Proton beam fires on a target of a enemy ship all the time

But you never know these days what is in and what not.

the blue beam in Ep3 is a SPHA-T laser suggested by anakin on some of the ships in the open circle fleet (his and obi's special fleet)

Exactly what i said
