cool, so leia is also a character:

Use the force.

So much of what makes Star Wars special are its characters. Luke, Leia, Obi-Wan, Vader and the list goes on. In Empire at War they live up to their reputation, with signature special abilities that make them a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. Take the Emperor for instance with his force lightning that chains from unit to unit; or Admiral Ackbar with his concentrate fire that can focus every weapon in a fleet on a single target; or how about Han and Chewie, with their ability to become invulnerable in the Millennium Falcon; and what would it be without Luke having a lucky shot at his disposal in his trusty X-Wing? Using these was without doubt the most rewarding part of this hands-on playtime.

Edit: some nice new screenshots too. Emperor's lightning, Boba's Jetpack, the Falcon....

Just to add that the preview is very ... poor. Nothing interesting, the guy event doesn't know the title of the game ("empires at war") or how to write Alderaan ("alderran") ...

There is one really big tidbit that interview did have.

Probably a shipyard. It is Kuat after all.

Only people who played EV Nova or the other EV games will get this but...Think of the Kane Band around Earth in EVN (nova). The thing was basically a giant shipyard.

Btw...I just noticed some Mon Cals (as in the species) on a desert planet in one of the new screens lol.

Um..Leia isn't a character.

Are Luke and Leia playable characters even though they were only 18 in A New Hope?

Luke is a member of the infamous Red Squadron along with Jek Porkins, Wedge Antilles, Biggs Darklighter, Garven Dreis and John D. Luke does not have his own hero character separated out from Red Squadron. Leia is not a playable hero

It's cause of Piett being in the fleet, maybe his special ability allows him to boost the number of ships deployed in space combat. He is a space tactician after all.
